Funny arguement I had with a guy over Wangan Midnight MT2

This is the argument I had with a guy from gameFAQs about downforce. I did change my wording a little bit in my second post to clarify my logic but other than that it was copied directly from the topic.
Me-Finally the question of the topic I beleive Reina's handles better because she has no spoiler, not having a spoiler loosens the grip on the road allowing for a higher entry speed into a corner and a faster exit speed out becasue the car can break into a slide sooner rather than holding a wider line around a corner.
Note: I was referring to in the game rather than in real life.
Him-Why is this topic still being discussed? Not having a wing at over 100mph gives you better traction? Jesus learn some basic physics at least. Reina's car handles better because it is a "Special Car" period.
Me-Zero8six first I know basic physics and what I said was that a spoiler can decrease top speed due to the downforce. But you need X amount of downforce at X speed to be able to make a corner meaning the car needs to both break loose before the apex and hook up afterwards in order to make an effective corner by drifting, this can be debated till the end time, but it all comes down to driver preference. Am I boring you with my physics knowledge yet? There's more. Cars with spoilers no matter the angle will experience a lower top speeed consistently due to the increased pressure and therefore increased friction between the tire and the road surface. And as we all know no perfect machine exists due to gravity and friction so a basic equation can be derived from these knowns. It reads TQ(Ability to do work or Torque)-PSI(Pounds Per Square Inch or the contact with the surface)=ETQ(Effective Torque Value or whats left). And since you seem to grasp the concept of spoilers increasing downforce and therefore increasing pressure you decrease the ability of the machine to do work. Follow me? I'm almost done. After we understand this equation we can hypothesize that the lower the value of PSI the higher the ETQ thus creating an inverse relationship between the values. But we must also realize there are progressive values in the equation. PSI will change based on speed and relative downforce. So we can gather that the faster you travel the more air would be forced over the spoiler and more downforce will be generated. This would appear to demonstrate that the overall value of PSI would increase as you accelerated up to a point when the acceleration value would be lower than the value of PSI thus preventing further acceleration and theoreticaly lowering the overall ability of the car to accelerate and thus lowering the overall top speed of the vehicle. Still with me? I promise I'm through after this. But it must also be understood the the difference of values between TQ and PSI must never exceed a safe parameter that is determined by the application and goal of the driver. If the values are too far apart an unsafe enviroment is created which can only be corrected by driver skill which is unstable at best. Balance between the two values is important and must be maintaned lest a unfavorable outcome be attained. OK I'm done. And by the way you can take your physics "knowledge" and do something so innapropriate with it that I wont mention it here.
Note-If I was incorrect in my logic please correct me.
Him-HAHAHAHAHAHA all that typing and you didnt even prove your point. All you said is that it came down to driver preference. The fact of the matter is that the rear spoiler/wing is used to increase handling and stability, the key factors needed in taking a corner smoothly and quickly, aside from driver skill. Of course you COULD drift the corner but without a wing in the back at over 90mph would cause your rear end to be too loose and lose too much speed through the corner. Which is why the wing is used in the first place since gripping a corner is much faster than drifting it. Your entire statement would be great if we were talking about a straight line and I would accept that. The problem comes into play that you are speaking about taking a corner at over 90mph. I can make it simple to everyone else on here, spend some money and go watch a drift event/ JGTC/ SCCA/ Time Attack or download a clip online. What do 99% of the cars have in common, BIG rear wings to increase downforce while drifting, or gripping at outrageous speeds. But its cool cause those top drivers and teams that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on research and development dont know a thing about taking corners the right way. Make sure and send them your formula that was cut and pasted on here by someone that has no knowledge on how to apply it to the real world.
Me-Oh and I never said spoilers were bad just I just explained there effect on the car. Maybe if you were mature enough to comprehend post you may have realized that. Either way I'm done with you. My dad always told me never to argue with a fool becuase passerbys can't tell which is which. And my apologies to the topic creator for my off-topic rant.
Him-You are right, this topic is over because you know absolutly nothing about how to build a car. The only thing you showed is how to cut and paste some facts about spoilers and downforce. And actually you did post that a spoiler would hinder the cars performance. Then had the idea that a spoiler would hinder a cars performance around a corner. I completely agree with what you posted about downforce and how it works. The problem came into play when you had no idea how that actually worked in the real world. Now I ask can the moderator please either delete this thread or lock it for good. In closing your dad is a wise man. Its just to bad this wasnt an arguement, you posted some BS comment, then tried to cover it with some facts you found. I stated you were a moron then I proved it. Close this topic.
And that was the end of the argument. Funny that people can’t grasp the concept of driver preference. And to think this all started over a very unrealistic arcade game. Anyway I thought it was hillarious after the fact mainly because we both took it so far. Even if I was wrong (Which I don't think I am) it was funny to get that guy all worked up over nothing. Not really relevant to ID but I couldn't figure out where else to put it.

right.
fuck that i got the carbon parts.

Umm...so, what was the arguement about again?
Anyways, Carbon setup is slightly driftier than Aero but has slightly faster acceleration. Aero is grippier, thus faster in turns and has better resistance towards being pushed in battles than carbon.
I would recommend you to get Aero.
I have Aero setup on my..
BNR32 (Rank B7, The Hakone Prince)
BNR34 (Rank B6, The Hakone Go-Go!)
CT9A (Rank S6 & B7, The Ultimate 100 Race Winner & The White Knight)
GDB (Rank B5, The Hakone Comet)
S15 (Rank B7, Big Upsetter)
SE3P (Rank C1, The Hakone Raiden)
SW20 (Rank B7, Handlingism)
Z31. (Rank B6, Destroyer)
And Carbon on...
HiAce (Rank B7, The Hakone Work Vehicle) (You can't choose aero or rims)
Z32. (Rank C2, The Hakone Genes) (by mistake -.-')

The arguement was about spoilers and how they affect the car you are driving as well as driver preference. And I usually go with a Aero setup but it really depends on how the car looks over performance.

sometimes aero and carbon can be huge differences.
What do you drive in MT2?

I drive an FC, and FD, a Z33, and a S30. I have Aero on the FD and S30 nothing on the FC and carbon on the Z33.
