Battery connections are clean and tight. 12.5dcv. 4.2L with manual tranny. I think problem is with safety switch making sure clutch is pushed down.
Where is the switch located? Thanks Mike
P.S. At least the Windstar is running!

I tried bypassing the solenoid and jumping a wire from the positive battery terminal to the terminal on the start solenoid.
The engine still didnt really crank, but I thought I heard the starter making some noise.
Tried the truck again with the key and it started. Now I am more confused?

Started the truck yesterday, lights did not dim at all. The engine starting making a loud rapping noise like a cement mixer.
I shut off the engine, checked the oil, full and clean.
Tried to restart and all the engine does now is crank and not catch.
I wonder if this is all related to the original problem of the truck turning over a 1/2 turn and cutting out.
Wonder if something is broken inside the motor causing all these symptoms?

For future posters here is what happened. I had antifreeze leaking into the cylinders and had a situation called hydrostatic lock. My engine is ruined.
Please if you notice you are losing antifreeze and there is no leak under the vehicle, bring it in to a repair shop ASAP.
It cost me mucho bucks to learn this lesson.
