Annoying squeak under the hood

Hi -

I have a 2000 rodeo that runs great but has developed an annoying squeak under the hood. Can't find it when I push down on the bumper, so I figure its not my shocks. Must be in the engine compartment but don't have a clue where to begin.

Any ideas or remedies based on similar experience?

Does it squeak when you go over bumps? I'm thinking worn or poorly adjusted hood bump stops...

put a dab of grease on the hood bump stops.
