Ive replaced the coil pack I found a vacume line that was not hooked up so I fixed it New plugs. Know Im thinking timing chain. I really dont want to go there exspecially if thats not the problem. Any ideas anyone

Sounds like a classic fuel pump problem. When fuel pumps start to fail, they will not provide enough pressure and will cause the car to die. It could be a fuel pressure regulator also, as it will cause the same symptoms. Regretfully, the fuel pump is more likely the cause, as the fuel pressure regulators rarely fail on you particular year. A fuel pressure test at the schrader valve will verify the problem. Your car should have 31-34 psi key on/engine off and pressure should increase 2-3psi with the engine running.

Thanks We did replace the gas tank and the fuel pump is in the tank but I got the fuel tank off anoth Grand Prix at a wrecking yard. It is possible that this one only had a few miles left befor it went out. I will see about getting the pressure tested and post what happens

Junk yard gas tanks can be pretty dirty, or worse have water or rust in them. Change your fuel filter and use a gas drier.

I would also run high test gas in there94 oct or 93 oct, what ever floats your boat, this will help clean out your ebgine of carbons that could have built up.
