Avex Dome Mugen NSX carbon?

I'm trying to detail my NSX now. See the part I'm holding? The Avex blue decals go on the outside... but for the interior, is it white or covered in carbon fiber? Does anyone have any reference photos for this car?

Got another problem...

there's a roundel on top of the car roof. On the real car it's shiny metallic and has multicolored flecks here and there.

The tamiya model decal is plain dull grey and uniform with no colored specks.

Is there any way to get around this?

i would say that the interior would be made out of carbon fibre as its race spec...for the the roof thing i would look at some aftermarket decal sheets or try to paint it using metalics.

im not sure what goes there but i just got that model and your smart and didnt spary paint it first casue i did and now there is no whit on the decals on the sides and for the little comets. plus my number ripped on one side while i was putting it on so i dont have ne on the side, but urs looks great and hope to see more pics to see what i can do to mine.

Looks like the model is coming along well...I'm doing the same one but I just started. I've had a hard time coming up with good reference pics for this car myself..a lot of raybrig and castrol mugen but only a few avex here and there :(

Progress has been slow. Right now I'm having a problem painting a perfect circle on the wheel rims. The outer rim is chrome, and the inner one is blue.

Sausage, use liquid mask. Thats what I did on mine. Brush it on the chrome area first, then airbrush the blue. Once the blue is fairly dry, remove the liquid mask using a toothpick. Gently rub off the liquid mask! Make sure the paint isn't completely dry, otherwise blue may chip off the chromw because it doesn't bond too well. I think you can buy the Gunze stuff in Singapore (maybe thicker). I've only used the Micro mask stuff in the U.S. Oh here is the sample of the rims on the same car, don't mind the orange color scheme. I wasn't gonna put decals on it, but decided it was a livelier contrast, unlike the original white/blue.

I use Mr masking sol. When I pull it off after painting, the paint peels off with it. The problem is not the entire paint layer coming out, but rather the paint peels off in a ragged edge. I just can't get a super clean circle.
This occurs when I use the masking sol on alclad or any other paint, actually.

It's a box stock Tamiya NSX by the way.

Sausage, do you use the Tamiya sprays? If so, that may be your problem because it goes on too thick. If you're not using the sprays, airbrush with the Tamiya Acrylics in very thin coats. You shouldn't need too many coats because the blue covers very well. You might try to scuff or lightly sand the inner area you want to paint blue also. Like I said in my first response- you can use a toothpick to clean off any ragged edges left in the paint by lightly and carefully rubbing around the blue/ chrome edge. I would like to help some more, but the conditions- weather and materials, are different as I live in Los Angeles.

You know what? I wonder if your mr. masking sol is too thick? Try to leave as thin and clean as possible of an edge around the masked area. The masking liquid I use can be thinned with water.
