I have a 1996 Jimmy SLS the check engine light is on again and has been for over a week. Over the past three years all of the sensors in this vehicles engine has been changed to the tune of approx 200.00 ea.
Does anyone have any suggestions to what else may be wrong to have the light come on again. The vehicle runs fine with the light on.

Well give us a hint.
What code no.
What engine and trans and mileage?
The more info you give the more help you will get.
Also a light does not say replace the sensor it says check it out.

Save some of that black tape so.
When it lays down and dies you can just tape it back up or just take it out in the back yard and bury it.

Whats the problem or whats the code?
If you keep it taped up.
Someday it may want to tell you something important and you will not be listening to it.

Yeah, but if you don't see the problem.... it doesn't exist...right?

Ignoring the SES, is like hearing a rod knocking, and sticking your fingers in your ears, yelling "LA LA LA LA LA LA" hoping that it goes away.

Yes I know I should get it checked. It's been happening over the past few years too many times and I just wanted to ask if it was a common probelm with this model. Hadn't considered the black electrical tape. Don't have echecks in this part of the country.
Thanks for your input.

Simply hit autozone or advance autoparts and they will scan it for free

Try this:
1. Have your SES code reset.
2. After you fill up your gas tank put the gas cap back on and turn it clockwise until you hear three clicks. Keep doing this from now on.
