I've been having problems with my engine misfiring for the last year. I've taken it to three shops for them to figure out what is wrong. The first chevy place said all it was was the timing and they adjusted it. That did not fix it. The second chevy place said it was the injectors. Still haven't gotten that fixed because I was going to have them cleaned first to see if that worked. At the shop that was going to clean the injectors they said I need a new engine because coolant is leaking into two of the cylinders. Do I really need a new engine or can this be fixed?

funny that you say that..... i have a 93 and its misfiring, and I smell coolant sometimes but no leaks also my coolant level is low.... hmmm, maybe the same problem? I hope i dont need a new engine too. it might be a very small leak in the head gasket :uhoh:

More likely intake gaskets on both engines.

How many threads are you going to post this question in?
Before we jump to conclusions on what the cause is, lets get some information first.
When does the engine misfire? Be specific
