Hey guys, when im driving thru the city i notice this creaking like noise coming from the steering column/wheel area. Im not sure what it is, its not as bad on the highway but u can still kind of hear it. Its like a creak creak when the road is inconsistent or sometimes on fairly good road. Do you know what it could be? Is it normal, or is it a bearing or something in the steering column? Thanks.

Something to do with your suspention. I would guess at either your strut or sway bar linkage. If it's just the linkage, it will only cost around $15 for the part.

My sister had the same problem with her 97, i would also look at the linkage, and possable lubercate in inside where the grears are.

I found out what it was, its the casing over the dash, it was rattling and hitting the piece under it, so i just put a little paper spacer in between, u cant see it, and sound stopped :) Thanks anyways.
