Speed Sensor Question

Had my car at the shop because of a front end driver's side accident and now the check engine soon light is on and the code is a speed sensor. I have an aftermarket glowgauge on the dash but it is not the problem because it was on there for more than a month before the accident with no problems. Now since that is on my speedometer does not work instead of increasing and decreasing speed quickly it jumps up and down. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or should I just take it back to the shop.

I forgot to mention that the car is a 02 Sentra GXE.

sorry this has nothing to do with ur question, but I would like to know where did u get the glow gauage for gxe?

I got it off ebay, i also got a white gauge for the ac part of the console.
