Have you guys heard that GM is closing their Oklahoma Trailblazer (GMT360 and GMT370 platforms) plant. That means that they won't be making any more extend tb's, along with envoy xl's. They claim that there isn't a market demand for them and that trailblazer sales have dropped, so they'll only work out of one plant (GMT360 platform) for tb's. It's a shame they have to drop such a good vehicle. They also dropped plans for a scheduled redesign in favor of a design "freshening."

One has to wonder if a "freshining" means a different headlight shape, or if they plan to actually re-design something critical.
'Bout time they invested some money into fixing the bugs. I read stories of electrical problems on these vehicles that scares the doo-doo out of me.
And don't get me started on headlights that won't stay off...

They already did a headlight and grille redesign for 2006, along with rocker panels and the rest of the side panels. They changed the back for 05. I think for 07 or 08, the "freshening" will include an interior redo and some exterior changes, but there will be no underlying changes, such as structure, engine, drivetrain, etc.

There will be more of a re-design than this. the 06 refreshening was just a change to buy some time. After 4 model years and like 5 years (remember the 02 Trailblazer came out in the beginning of 2001 or something crazy like that) of the TB not changing, they needed to do something.
But yes... the EXT and the Envoy XL are a dying breed.
Keep an eye out for a full model change.

Thats correct, no more TB EXT, Envoy XL, or Izuzu Ascender 7pass. After the total redesign in (now) 2008, the Saab, Buick, and Izuzu models will all be dropped. Only the TB and Envoy SWB will continue to exist. Also, they will be pretty much redesigned, with 7pass seats in the SWB models, and there is talk about a standard V8 or beefing up the 4.2L I6 with more displacement, HP, and TQ.
