mould lines on tyres

Hi all,

how do I remove those mould lines on tyres, without disturbing much of the grooves on the tyres.

Try using nail clippers, the ones with the curved profile across the 'jaws' works best, you can get them close to the tread to remove the mold line without damaging the tread.

Follow this up with a light scuffing to level out the mold line and depending on the material used to make the tire, a little bit of polish to blend it in.

Easy does it with the polish though as you don't want to leave residue in the treads. Apply just a little to a rag then dab off any excess so you're left with only a "wet spot" of polish. . .

Freezing the tires first also helps to firm-up the rubber while you're sanding it.
