Ok so I had the fluid flushed and filled, it seems to be going into limp-in a bit more frequently now than before. It is usually when I am just starting out and not when I have been driving for awhile. In fact, it only happens soon after starting the car, so I am looking into the ignition switch issue.

It has happened most frequently today. Interestingly, the weather is a mix of snow and rain and the roads are very wet. The few other times since the flush have been after parking in snow on the side of the street in buffalo.

Today, I noticed that the speedometer was not working briefly as it kicked into limp. I suspect that the output speed sensor is bad, or the weather guard is missing. Any other thoughts on this?

I got an error code of 77 off of the dash, but I cannot find a listing for it in my factory service manual does anyone know what that is?

Also, can anyone recommend a computer program for testing sensors etc? I am considering purchasing one from EASE, but am having a hard time knowing what to get.

Any help I can get with this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Leonard

couple of things, the ignition switches on these cars have a tendency to fail, so that's a possibility why you are having troubles. Next, when you had the flush & fill, did you use Mopar ATF+4? If you didn't you're going to cause a lot of problems for your transmission, so you need to use that fluid.

Thanks for the response. I made certain that they put the appropriate fluid in. Between me and valvoline there was about a quart of the bad stuff in there.
I am leaning towards the output speed sensor, I have noticed the last few times that this happened that the speedo was not working when I went into limp in. It takes a few seconds to catch on and then it works. After speedo is working, the restart solves the prob. but not before.

the other day I went through a deep puddle and the care lost power and quit. It started after about 15min. It it seemed like the crank sensor again. It is my bet that the guy who changed the connector did not seal the splice properly. I will put the car up this weekend and make changes. Speed sensor, ignition, and check splice. Updates to follow.

as always, any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Leonard.
