Help! 96 Marquis Wire Harness?

I have a 1996 Grand Marquis, upon putting several hundred dollars into my car we have found that the wire harness that goes to the brain has touching wires. So we have been looking for this part to replace, new is almost $900, and way to much to put in.

We can't seem to find a junk yard with the part, as it is only interchangable for two years...

At risk of sounding like the clueless female that I am, what is the name for this darn part? Wire Harness? Is it an Engine Control Unit? lol, Can't seem to find anything online that pulls it up.. :grinno:

any help on where to find this part or what the silly name is I would apprecaite!!!

Hmmm...do you have this wiring harness already out of the car? If so, you could post a close up picture of it on here and I'm sure someone can tell you exactly what it is called! I don't believe it has a technical name, though, I'd called it a wiring harness myself!

Beth... i have a simular problem.... did it blow a fuse and could u tell me which one.... what electrical devices did you loose.... door locks ... auto climate control.... security system ...???
