I want to increase my idle speed on my 2001 sliverado, 1500HD auto, 6.0L gas. Anyone know of an ECM tuner capable and under $300.00?

I personally prefer Allen Nelson's tunes over anything, but this is in your price range.

Thanks I appreciate your link, I've emailed them. Nice color on the short-box, same as mine but I have a couple more doors. I hope I can repay the reference some time. My best to you and yours.

What you are refering to is called the "PCM", the Powertrain Control Module .... Happy Holidays:sunglasse

A tune from a box, Hyper**, Superchip and others is a safe parameter tune. They do not get to far into the computer maps. With a tune from the people like Nelson, PCMforless and others they will change more items.
Your best bet is a live tune to ensure that your tune is adjusted to the conditions you use your truck in and for.
I use Nelson because he is always at the track and I feel he does a good job of adjusting hte truck to meet my requests.

If you're going to want to alter your settings numerous times, you might be better off with a handheld such as Superchips or Hypertech. I had a Hypertech before my Nelson and it sucked ass. All my engine did is ping while I had it.
Definately get a custom tune, you will not regret it at all.

Well, I've filled out the forms on Nelson, Hyper and Jessybubb. No reply's yet. The $18.50, 1-7/8 inch alt pulley arrived by snail mail today, I guess it get's first try.

It might take Allen a few days to get ahold of you seeing as how he's swamped most of the time. As far as Jesse...I dunno.
