Well I just changed again cases this time to a Lian-Li V1000 series. The Thermaltake armor I had was great however it was way too big and heavy to lug around which I always do to LANs and such.
This is my first mid tower case in a long time since I prefer large cases with lots of room; however, the internal layout is absolutely excellent so everything fit perfectly.
It’s expensive but it’s of very high quality using very thick AL panels. So it ends up being very light but also very strong.
Oh and another upgrade that I also made recently is a new Seagate 400GB Sata for extra storage. As soon as I find two more deals for the same model I’ll set them in a nice hardware accelerated raid 5 array.
Anyway here are some pics of the new setup:

thats a pretty sweet rig youve go there.
im going to buy a new case and mobo in a few weeks and switch out most of my parts.
im planning on getting a N4 chipset for pentiums.
the specs should look something like this plus a new mobo
P4 630- 2mb cache
1 gb samsung ddr2
160 gb Seagate NCQ hdd
X300se (upgrading to 1x 6600)
Plextor DVD+-R
NEC DVD-Rom
Dell 1705 flat panel+ mag 17 flat screen
thats my main computer. i actually dont do so much gaming but i like nforce 4 chipsets.
i also have a pretty modest home theatre on a budget
AMD Sempron K8 2800+ OC'd to 1.76
ECS K8M800 Mobo
512 Viking Ram
80 Gb Seagate HDD
FX 5500 128Mb
Audigy 2zs Value
Lite-On 16x DVD+-r/dl
Ubuntu Linux/Myth TV
all in all, apart from the sound card i dropped 280 with shipping to get the entire thing built with a case.
works pretty well across the network streaming music and videos.

Damn I completely missed this thread. Nice rig you got there. I'm too broke to get a new case, I have a Raidmax :(. What did you with the Thermaltake Armor?
You post on any PC forums?

I sold my Armor to polygon, it was great case; however I live in student dorms so I move fairly often, plus I take my comp to lan parties and the Armor was simply to bulky and heavy to do that often.
And yes i post ocasionally in dfi street and hardop. oh and as another upgrade update, i changed my 19" monitor to the bigger 2001fp, and today I'm waiting for my new 8port gigabit switch that also happens to support jumbo frames;)

Indeed they do, their build quality is simply amazing. I cannot be more happy with my V1000.

well personally I would recomend to stick with AMD, for now they clearly have the performance advantage over in intels netburst failure. For intel it would be better to wait till their new desktop architecture comes out starting with the Conroe core derived out of pemtium M design.
however if you really want an intel now, make sure to get the new Presler 65nm core and make it dualcore.
As far as chipsets, i would rather go with the new 975 from intel. The NF4 works great on amds howevere this is their 4th gen for them so they had time to mature. On the other hand the NF4 intel is brand new and supports a memory controller which in the amd version does not. Generally on intel systems for ultimate stability stay with intel chipsets at least till the NF4 intel proves itself for a while.

ive been an AMD man since 98, but this processors has served me quite well, i still use several AMD systems. I was actually going to wait for the new Conroe-Cores to come out. Which is funny because i live in Conroe, Texas. anyway, im still undecided what i will do. im possibly just going to sell that system to a friend and rebuild with the new X2's. Those from everything ive seen are much better than an intel 8xx.
and true about the NF4 on intel. ive worked with the NF4's on many AMD systems and it never ceases to amaze me at how awesome it is. If i was going to go with a new chipset, it would be a 945/55.
