Help!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!
I was driving one day and all of a sudden my window fell sideways into the door, I asked my dad a to fix it and he said it had fallen out of track, well couple days later it fell down again, he opened the door and said the glue that held the window to the metal brackets had come undone so we put some glue that the auto shop sold us and couple days later when i was puting down the window it fell off again, it is winter time right now and verry Cold!, I was a heading for work and I saw the back window was not all up so I accidently pushed the wrong button and i had put the pasengers window down and it came down easy, pushed for it to go up and it well all the way down, i could not get it in time i was driving, went to ford dealership shop they said they do not do glass, told me to go to glass shop, went to glass shop and they said i have to get new window, cause ford uses some special stuff to put the metal bracket to window and when glass comes from ford it metal bracket comes already attatched to window, and that they have tried lots of glueing technics and not been able to figure out how to make metal bracket stick to window. PLEASE IF YOU KNOW OF A SOLUTION TO MY DILEMA PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT TO USE OTHERWISE I WILL HAVE TO BUY A WHOLE NEW WINDOW COSTING ME OVER 250.00.
thanks for any help with this issue.
Have a great Christmas!!!!!!!!!! :0)

I had the same problem happen Monday with my driver's side window on my 98 EB. I went to put it down after work and I heard a thump and it fell about 3/4 way down. I was able to pull it back up for the drive home but I've had to tape it to keep it up since then. The window motor still runs but it's completely detached from the glass. I haven't had a chance to take the door panel off yet. Any help with how to take apart the door and/or fix the glass would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

Thanks

Removing the door panel can be fairly easy. Just need a philips screwdriver and remove the screws located behind the door handle and remove the switch bezel (the one with the window controls and door locking) there should be another screw or 2 there. and the rest of the panel should pop off. The panel is mostly held on by locking clips that are reusable.

I found a couple sites with good info on how to take the door apart. The best one I found is a PDF file with instructions & pictures. http://www.muthco.com/techsupport/pdfs/21000360.pdf
It's actually about installing a new mirror but it gets you what you need to know. I got my door taken apart and the glass put back in the brackets. I had to take out the brackets that attach to the window & clean them out really good. I then just took some automotive grade silicone and filled the brackets, reattached them to the rails inside the door, & then pushed the glass back into them. I put the window all the way up and left it that way for 3-4 days and it seems to be working ok now. I'm still pretty cautious with it though. It's not quite as smooth as it was before it broke but hey, it works and I no longer have my window duct-taped up!
Thanks

i had the same problem with my wifes expedition, the first time i used window glue from a glass company, it lasted about 2 weeks, it just wouldnt hold, since i used to repair golf clubs i knew the strongest bonding agent is a two part epoxy, i picked it up at autozone buy one that works on metal and glass and it will hold forever, i used a screwdriver to stir and laid it on a 2x4 when i was done, the next day when i pryed the screwdriver of it pulled a big chunk of wood with it. hope this helps, not a very fun job to do twice.
ps if your windows are froze dont try to roll them down.
