Hello,
My break lights do not work when I break, only my little lights on the spoiler work, but at night the tail lights do work and are on, but don't get bright when I break. Anybody know what that would be?
Thanks in advance...

Did you check the fuses?
This happened to me once.
My Regal has the brake light in the rear window but if I remember right it has a separate fuse.

Hey I'm having the same problem 95 regal, and I pulled the fuse for the brakes on the fuse panel at the pass. door. It turned off the third brake light also. I checked the bulbs, all were fine, did a little heat shrink on a bare wire and getting a wiring manual today. Hopefully I can get them working.

I took my car into a garage and they said it was the turning signal switch that was causing the problem. So they replaced that part and it's working fine now.

Hey man, thats hilarious, Thats what I was getting on here to tell you falldown. I knew my turn signals were a little screwy and you had to pull a little to make them work, but I looked at the wiring diagrams in the manual I bought yesterday, and it said the brake lights ran thru the turn signal, Since they have to be intermittent for a turn signal. I had my voltage tester out ready to start running down wires and thought hummm. I'll just wiggle the turn signal switch with a piece of steel on the pedal and watch. And yes my turn signal switch has a short or is worn out as well.

Cool... I was kind of worried that I was getting ripped off but I had no real choice to be going around to different garages to check what they had to say. So that's a relief.
Later and have a good one.

Save $200 bucks, parts labor , and do a very simple repair. Bend the contacts down so they connect. Following is very good pic/display....

Hey Guys,
I had the exact same problem...tail lights worked fine, center brake light on the spoiler worked fine....just the main turn signal lights....thought it was the turn signal switch so I took the steering column apart. Once I exposed the turn signal contacts I seen there was a lot of dust collected in the di-electric grease. Cleaned everything up, applied a little of the grease and it has worked perfectly since. (going on a year since the repair)
Hope it helps.
