93 H22 prelude

im new. Im 17 with an awesome 93 H22 prelude. all it has is a GReddy Exhaust System, AEM cold air Intake and im not sure about headers. Well right about now I have beat 93 and 94 Integras with Exhausts and Intakes, I have beat F-150's, v-6 mustangs, rangers, my homebois Hatch(stock), and I raced a Mustang GT and suprisingly and honestly I beat it but then again ppl say how it can be also the driver but c'mon a Mustang GT. Well im not trying to bragg but I didnt think my idiot self could. Well What I wanted to know is how to make my car a little faster without stripping it. its my daily car .
well Please help if you can and what cars should I race that would give me a close race. I mean as in if my car was stock. well plase help.
oh by the way since im not that money balling right now should I leave my car how it is from the outside and leave it as what my friends call a sleeper??????????????????????????????????????????? ?

Since you already have I/H/E I'd suggest a high flow cat, bigger throttle body, lightweight flywheel, underdrive crank pulley, etc.

Mustang V6, Integra GSR's, Civics, 240sx, etc... You shouldnt have a problem against those cars, and others that are alike.

Nice car btw, my friend I work with bought the same kind, love the interior, hate the exhaust. How do you like your exhuast system? Was looking at buying one for my car (5th gen), but don't wanna get some fart pipe.

I belive it was said before.... "The H22 was pretty much tricked out from the factory, thats how honda pulled off 200hp." Too bad they didn't shed some weight off it, woulda been a sweet platform to start off.

But they still look better than any civic IMO.

I agree. Theres only so many bolt-ons you can do before you have to start doing internal engine work to achieve serious power. It sucks for us lude owners that our H22 motors dont respond great to mods compared to K20's and B16/B18 motors. :(

ok, My Lude's Check engine light comes on every now and then that I gun it.well it comes on but then when I turn it off and turn back on its not there! I wonder if its like my sensor or something, it only happens when I gun it lasts for a while. But like if I turn off my car it wont come up untill I accelerate quick, but only after I really gun it. Like it wont come up just if I accelerate fast, just when I gun it and then do it
well I have gone for three days without gunnin it and nothing came up except today. My friend called me out in a lil ol take off and well we did, I won but right after when I stopped like 1/4 mile later chech engine came up. well just wanted to know what you ppl think!!!

I think I got a good deal on my Lude then. Bought it for $2,500. 167,something miles on it.Great condition, no dents anywhere besides a tiny one on top of the hood.and real tiny. everything works good is just that my homeboi needed money. was it a real good deal? oh the tires were bad though, no grip had to change them. well just wanted to know if I did good, I have seen preludes for more so just wanted to know

Also I wanted to know if Prelude SiR is the same as Prelude Vtec, I mean its a Vtec but is it the same, well I ask cause I saw some JDM Valve covers which I wanna get but it says that they only carry Prelude Type S and Prelude Type SiR. I guess Type S is the Si and SiR is the Vtec. Well not sure and wanted to know to see if I buy it or not. Well I want it and its only 190 with tax included and it says it they are original JDM valve covers from Japan.What do yall Think?worth it and is it for my car?

Personally I feel that no VTEC Honda motor responds well to bolt ons. I have many friends with B16A engines, and their dilemma is the same as ours -- turbo it, or build the internals. These are not highly detuned Toyota engines...

Type S and SiR are both 5th generation designations (although I am vaguely remembering a 4th gen SiR). These are both H22A engines and thus their valve covers will fit any H22A. It's mostly aesthetic and you could paint the cover with some krinkle paint yourself..

Sorry to kind of thread jack, but on a similar note, I have a $100 gift certificate to a local powder coating place...I was gonna have my valve cover done, but should I save the gift certificate and just do it myself? I'm just thinking the powder coat will last basically forever and hold up to the heat.

well I kept my rims and thats about it. I started working now since im out of school for right now. I am under contract so I will get NO TAXES taken off. Imma get 340 on both checks, that makes it a total of $680. Lets say that I waste bout 50 on gas for the two weeks and bout 30 on food since my mom makes me homemade food. I think imma get some headers, first see if I have any I really dont know if they are stock. if I dont have any Imma get some GReddy to match my exhaust and probably some shocks for my car. That should help me get rid of all my money and I still have to ask my mom for some more money.

There is also the fact that powdercoat > paint. I'd definitely rather have a powercoated valve cover (or chromed) as it looks a bit more "high end" than paint, even krinkle in my opinion.

No, none of these ever existed, though the first generation Prelude did have a cabrio/convertible model. Manufacturers rarely (if at all) make 2 door station wagons, only hatchbacks. But thankfully the Prelude has never been made into such an abomination.. however the targa and convertible models do seem attractive.

A Valve cover isn't gonna give you any power.
Why not a high flow cat to polish off your exhaust system or maybe save more money and get a standalone computer so you can get the most out of your mods.

That should help me get rid of all my money and I still have to ask my mom for some more money.

damn. its gonna be pretty long so yeah. Look, shoot man When I first bought my car about 5 months ago I had to change the thermostat and it stopped overheating. Well lately it kinda would go up. Like its digital and it has bout 7levels. 3 is good like half anf then the next ones like are overheating and what not, well ya know. Well my dumbass had nothing but water in my freaking radiator and s@#t. So that is a good reason why it was also overheating. Well I added some antifreeze & coolant to my car but never drained it to fully have nothing but antifreeze. I only put like half of the thing anyways. Well I have looked at all my water hoses and they are all intact. Today as I was coming home from work it kida started overheating like up to two lines above normal. Thie thing is unlike when I had the thermostat problem this time aslong as I was driving the car would be normal but as soon as I would stop it would totally go up. but like I could drive for two miles and it would stay normal untill I stopped and it would only take like 30 seconds to go up. Well what I want to know is is it because I have very little antifreeze or could it be something else. Bout how much would a badass tune up cost. well thnx for helping me.

well look, I can keep on adding antifreeze and coolant every day to my radiator. DAMN right, well its only bout 1/3 of the entire bottle but is still like where the F@#k is it going. I saw some dripping from something behind my tire, tasted it and its sure as hell not antifreeze, its playn ol water. Well I havent noticed any like dropping of antifreeze but it has to be going somewhere. Well ppl have been telling me that I may have bubbles but its like what the hell, it should stop after a while right? Well I honestly dont know what to do. Im too scared to drive now with out overheating so I drive with the heater full BLAST but im scared that if I keep on driving like that I will eff it up. Im really scared of effing my car up. What should I do. my fans work, I dont know and it does not look like it is dripping antifreeze. What do I do, what should I do? I really need someone to help me and give me advice. Well I am getting my check next friday. I would like it if ya could tell me by this thursday so I could go ahead and fix it, damn I really need yalls help, if you can or have had the same problem please help. Check the return hose coming from your heater core.

I had a small coolant leak about a month ago - I would see steam coming from under the hood and smell coolant evaporating on the engine, but I couldn't find the leak.

I took a few weeks of refilling the radiator and searching under the hood, but I finally found the leak - a small 4" hose coming from the heater core. It was hard to find because it's located between the engine and the firewall under the intake manifold. Sure was glad to get it fixed because re-filling my radiator every day was a pain in the ass.

P.S. It's not a real good idea to taste fluids coming from your car. :grinno:

check if BOTH radiator fans are running when your turn on A/C. if not that means your radiator fan have blown fuse or burnt up motor.

could be blown head gasket. exhaust air pushes water out of your water reservoir and start overheating when you loss water.

My uncle has been trying to buy my car for like, well since I bought it. once again i payed 2500 for it, it has a little less than 168K, has AEM Cold air Intake and one dent by the back of the drivers door(but opens perfectly fine is no biggie) and also has a GReddy Exhaust. What should I sell it for, like what would be too little and what would be too much. I was also thinking if I should take the exhaust off of my car and keep it for my next one?

Well I just found out that my friend can get Hondas pretty cheap cause he works at an auto auction place and he tells me that they like check the cars all the time before auctioning them to have a start bid,wellanyways he is incharged of Hondas at his work, well he tells me for me to ask him for almost any Honda and that he can get it for me. Well right now he has a 95 hatch dx stock. he tells me he can let it go for 2k with paper work on it and everything, like the title for it. is this like a good deal or what? I was like can you get basically any honda and he said yeah, what should I ask for, I want a pretty fast stock car to what I can just add an intake, headers, and Exhaust. just to give it a lil more, what should I ask for, well thnx for the help.

Don't sell it - let your uncle buy the 95 hatch at your friends auction for 2000. 2k for a 95 hatch is a fair price, but with your Prelude you got a crazy good deal for 2500 - it'll be hard to find a better Honda than your Prelude at that auction for under 4000.

SCARIEST day of my fucking life. I was shittin bricks. ok well I got off of work at lil after 9, well some riced up civic revved at me so I did it back. well anyways we were racing doing 55 on a 45, not too much we had just left the stop light. Ok ppl so we are on the right lane, (duh it is america) and there was a state trooper on the left lanes gas station. the civic kinda slowed down and so did I, but then I found out that I guess he had seen the trooper, well im thinkinhg and i did th stupidest shit ever. I took off and left. I took it up to 100somethin and just left. Im pretty sure the state trooper did not get any information because I just shifted down to 3rd or 2nd, honestly cant remember and well yeah I left. It just happened a lil while ago like 30 minutes ago. i feel like it was right now, lol. well anyways yeah hopefully he didnt get anything which dont think he did cause he hadt to have waited for the cars on his lane to slow down or clear out the way in order for him to pass through since he was at the gas station and by then i was off. well I went through a neighborhood, got on some road that I did not know where it would take me and luckily it was close to a main street. well to make it short it is my first trooper or in that case any cop chase in my life even though I did not actually see him turn on the lights or anything. well another day, I came from work a while back and took the sme road I was on before the whole entire cop inccident, well I drove on it like I was suppose to ysterday and NO COP.
