96 Cherokee - Power Door Locks work great in the front bu tthe back ones hesitate and i have to hold the unlock button up for a second for them to unlock. Can these be lubricated or greesed or is this a result of motors getting weak? It only happens to the back ones. - TJ

It sounds like they could be binding up. I would take the door panels off and check the functioning of the power lock solenoid. If it seems to be all right, lube the linkage at all pivot points as well as the latch. That was all it took to free up mine.

you may also have oo much lube, and if you live in an area where it gets cold, the lube will slow down response time.

Hey,
What kind of grease is good to use on the pivot points? Can I use the same type that I lube the undercarriage with?
Thx, Phil

I've used spray lithium grease, clear silicone grease and chassis grease over the years inside doors with good results.
