stock internals question

hello, i heard from a person that the 03-04 cobra engine could handle roughly 800 horsepower on the stock internals, can anyone commment on this????

ive heard that it indeed can handle atleast that.

I've been told that the block will hold 1000+ hp. But the internals needed to be upgraded to get to that point. Although it seems like I remember hearing something about the crank being just as stout as the block, but that could be completely wrong. No first hand experiance. Just what I heard.

From what I have read the crank and block should be good for it but the rest will start to give you problems once you get beyond the 600 range.

There are a lot of guys who have been running those power levels and more on the stock 03-04 long block for a while now. The con rods are Manley h-rods and the pistons are forged units from zoeller. Combine those with 6-bolt cross main cast iron 4.6 and the very stout cobra crank your not going to find much more max hp ability until you start buying pure race parts(billet cranks etc) from companies like cola, callies, carillo and the like.
