Old news, but hobby search have the Ferrari F40GT Competizione Monte Shell up on their website.

HLJ also have it in stock.. I'm making an order, as this looks to be a great kit.. P/E details, superb decals, and it's an F40.. I mean call me old, grumpy whatever I love the car..

Come on Tamiya, F430 just like this one.. Only reason we are getting this is because they still have the molds for the road going F40.. Oh well..

I would prefer Tamiya to do an SLR... or both :D

$25 for that kit with PE isn't so bad. I was surprised.

Well they have to give some candy.. Nobody would buy a old kit with only need decal that was available in aftermarket..

Still yet another reissue from Tamiya... We want REAL new kit !!!

Good deal at $29.00 Cdn, I'm sure if it shows up here it will be close to $50.00 Cdn.

Mick, I thought you were taking a break, or is that only from building and not buying. :)

I seriously doubt Tamiya will kit an F430 now that Revell and Fujimi have gotten theirs to market.

They need to do unique subjects. McLaren F1, Mercedes McLaren SLR, Mercedes AMG CLS 55, Porsche 996 GT2 & Turbo, Porsche 997 and future variants, Porsche Cayman, Bugatti Veyron, Lotus Elise/Exige, Aston Martin DB9. Another F430 at this point is a waste of time-even if theirs would be better it's corporate suicide to spend that $$ when other models of it exist. Their current Ferrari models like the Modena and Enzo aren't selling so hot so they give craft stores like Hobby Lobby a deal on their overruns.

O f**k yyeaaa!!!!!!!! That F40 still looks ok. They could've gotten away with a parts pack tho. Hopefully tamiya will catch on some day.

We're still beating on this dead horse about Tamiya not putting out new car kits? Guys, I'm glad to see that hope is still alive, but it's not really happening, is it? What was the last new tooled kit Tamiya put out- the Pug 307, with the diecast chassis? What was before that? It's been long enough that I don't remember. The recent trend is very clear though- kits like the 911 Turbo, the F40 GT, and all those Pug 206 reissues show that Tamiya can't justify the investment to tool new car kits. The Enzo was almost definately a test of the market- Tamiya wanted to see if there were really different enough markets for diecasts and for ultra detailed plastic kits. The results are appearently in. And now Tamiya makes diecasts, because that's where the money is.

Yet as far as I'm concerned with the F40 GT, they've managed alot with very little. I certainly have the F40 road kit (and I know its weaknesses), but I would love to have a GT racing version to put with it (I'm into the road & track thing). So, I will almost definately buy one, and someday, I'll actually build it. And I will be happy building essentially the same kit over again (really, I'd rather have this F40 GT by Tamiya than a F430 by anyone).

Yeah, I admit I lament the lack of a Tamiya McLaren F1 (road and racing versions, because they would put both out), but on the other hand, they've put out so much great stuff, that even if they do stop now, it will take me a lifetime to catch up and build all the stuff I want that's already out. Sure, a lack of new subjects may be a bit of a bummer- but it won't impact my building one bit.

Don't have time at the moment to build, I had to stop as I was spending too much time building models.. Got exams now, and house needs painting etc..!! yawn..!!

But, I still read the forums just before I go to sleep etc..

And sorry, I wasn't trying to make another thread where everyone says - yeah but Tamiya are releasing crap, or no decent new models.. I just thought that was a good deal for a model with so much detail... I'll buy one, I like the car, it's a full detail Tamiya, why not..!!
