What does a aftermarket waste gate do, i was thinking about gitting a 40 ro 50 mm one. Do i have to have a certent psi to put one one?

I am going to school to be a mechanic, but i am not fumiler at all with turbo motors and i don't want to screw mine up. That is why i have all these questions.

Thats a hefty load of reading. but if your going to mechanics school you may as well read them. And as far as your wastegate goes, you shouldnt touch it. Theres almost no need to play with the oone on a stock turbo.

If you are going to play with your own stuff it is pretty much required reading. You need to understand what you are doing when you change parts. If you don't you end up wasting money, or worse yet blowing things up. If you were to read only one of them the first gives the best over view.

I should probally pick up that first book. Im a good mechanic, but not too knowledegable about making a high performance engine.
