I had a 1999 New Jetta and now a 2001 Jetta. I installed a set of Euro light ultra white headlights. After a few days I noticed that the passenger side light begins to get very dim. When I push on the connector the light gets bright again. The connector is on all the way and "clicks" when I push the connector back on. I noticed that on both cars the middle pin on the connector has started to burn and melt the connector. Anyone know why this happens and if there are any ultra white lights that won't do this? Thanks!!

its too high of a watt rating and your stock wires cant handle the extra amps needed to light them.. if you continue to use those bulbs that you will either:
a: have an engine fire =(
b: blow the fuse for headlight
c: melt the harness and connector by blub
d: all of thee above

Thanks for the advise. Do you know of any bulbs that will give the white light that the Jetta can handle? Does VW have any of these lights that won't burn the wires? The lights that I installed look like the normal 55watt bulbs just that the glass is blue in color which gives off the white color. Any help would be appreciated.

Silverstar at any of the major parts stores are fine and dandy. (I use them, they look purdy and don't light no fires)

the wattage of your bulbs are too high. this is what always happens if you dont go oem with your bulbs.
