Hey guys and gals,

Just found this site, and it's looks like a great resource and critique place. I've been drawing autos ever since I could hold a crayon, and got in trouble as a child more than once for expressing my talent on things other than paper...hehehe!!

Currently, I mostly do airbrushing on t-shirts and autos, but occasionally do some simple line art and computer render via Photoshop for fun and extra cash.

Anyways, just wanted to say, "hey" and I'll post some work below.

Yeah.. but people pay you MONEY to draw:p I've got pocket lint to show for it. And yes, we do it because we love to do it, I'll agree 100%, but the main difference is income.

um....give this guy his thread back...move this discussion to the Contest thread or the Mistie in progress thread, then I won't feel like we're doin this new guys work a dis-service.

I'll give you my take in triplicate-detail over there.

Thanks for all the compliments. Don't worry about stealing the thread.

If you want to see the tons of other designs that I've done, just check out my website. The address is in my sig. Once on my site, go to "Off-Road T-Shirts" and "Custom Autos" links.

I do this for fun too, with a few done for $, but I would really like to find a way to make it a full time thing.

Right now my line weights are what need work. I do it all with one pen width. The work on this board has inspired me to start at it.

Thanks for the good feedback. All the black & white cars are line drawings on paper with a pen, not airbrushed. I do outline my cartoon-style airbrush pieces on t-shirts using a #3 tip and needle on my Paasche airbrush. I'll post some close-up pictures soon.

Had some free time last night so I dug out my old markers (surprised that some were still good) and played around with them on this Challenger concept.

This is really the first marker drawing that I've done in many years. The markers were thin so the effect isn't what I wanted, but let me know what you think. BTW, this is a picture not a scan. My scanner is on the brink......of being kicked off the roof!

That is some amazing work you do, and at your age too! You really have an eye for details and how to build up the right colors. I know you'll make a name for yourself with your art because the quality is outstanding and it will get even better the more you do! It seems you've already found your medium and style, and that is great!

So that is 100% markers? I need to try using only markers.
The whole pastel thing takes too long for me.

What kind of markers did you use and what is the size of paper (Challenger)?

PS: You could have put that in its own thread, started a new one so more people would be drawn to it.
We just don't want ppl starting new threads for every single piece of work if they have tons to share at one time.

I guess I should have started a new thread.....next time I guess.

Paper is 9x12 marker paper (can't remember brand) that I bought the other day with an inclination to try it out. Markers were just small off-brand ones (can't remember that name either). You can probably tell by some of the strokes how small they were. I'm hoping to pick up some good, bigger ones soon.

Yeah, I've tried the pastel thing to, and there is just to much masking involved to make it look right. I guess I'm a little impatient to see the end result with some of my work....

I have Prisma Markers. They seem to work well. I want to try the prisma blender marker too to see how that works. I saw a big box of 100 markers at the art store (cheepos). I think I will get those for small details, head lights, etc.

Yup, the whole masking thing takes too long plus I am just not happy w/ the results, of course that is due to me.

I will give 100% markers a go.

Here's a link to a great resource for airbrushing. It's a forum and magazine related to airbrushing with great how-to articles and questions answering. The people involved and the article written better than that other Airbrush magazine.
