i'm guessing you are trying to go through MSN's browser? my family has MSN as part of our DSL deal. i hate the browser and everything about it. i only use messenger and can access my email from firefox. i can't remember the last time i used MSN's browser

So I assume you're on dialup then? I used to have MSN back in my dialup days, and I will say it definately wasn't the WORST out there (that singular honor belongs to the most craptastic of services, AO-friggin'-L.) That being said, MSN wasn't without its problems while I was using it. I wish I could recommend another service (PeoplePC, Juno, etc.) but I haven't so much as blinked in the direction of dialup for a good 3 or 4 years. Can I inquire as to why you're still using it? If you're in an area that doesn't support highspeed internet, that's completely justified (some internet is better than none.) However if you DO have highspeed service available to you, there's really few excuses left to stay on dialup, as the cost of a phone line and the access through an ISP is probably nearly the equivalent of cable internet, and in many cases more expensive than DSL.
Just some food for thought -- if highspeed's available to you it may be time to upgrade...
...that is unless you LIKE the sounds of a modem talking back to you. I will admit the DTMF tones and handshake squawk ARE kind of cool in a retro way.
