Anime is No Good 2

Now I'm not accusing anyone like 'Lostmypicks' did in the first thread. But I just think its boring as hell.Who agrees? :confused:

No way. It depends on your taste, really. I don't go for all that Yugiyo crap or whatever, and there are a lot of series out there that just seem way to generic and uninspired (yet you can go to any Best Buy and see them prominently displayed on the shelves in neat little box sets for ridiculous prices -- but don't get me started on that mess of consumerism.) At any rate, anyone who can honestly claim that they think anime is boring or uninspired is probably watching the wrong stuff. Try a Miyazaki film -- rent "Princess Mononoke" or "Spirited Away" or "The Cat Returns" or "My Neighbors the Yamadas" or any other Ghibli film (Studio Ghibli has recently licensed Disney eight or so titles to rerelease with new soundtracks using the voices of well known actors.) I might also highly recommend some of the classics of anime: "Ninja Scroll", "Akira", "Ghost in the Shell", etc. I recently saw "Millennium Actress", which was a phenomenal film.

Oh, and if you doubt anime can emotionally affect you like a live action movie can, rent "Grave of the Fireflies". It WILL get to you.

This is an anime forum for enthusiasts of anime. If you don't like it, don't post in this forum. I don't want to see any threads like this in this forum. It would be like me going into the Honda forum and saying "Honda's aren't very good, who agrees?"
