83 Cavalier hood won't open

My 83 Cavaliers hood won't open, the cable is broken at the latch itself.
How can I get this open?

Find some way to take the grille off. The rest should just be right in front of you.

Try going in from under the bumper...you can push the little lever the cable goes to and it will pop the hood into the secondary latch...
