vtec controllers

ok i been doing some research on tuning your vtec but all i can come up with is all these mixed answers.. people tell me oh u should get a vtec controller so u can launch off the line with vtec but then i read online that if you're runnin all motor u should set your vtec at a higher rpm an lower if you're running boost so that your turbo spools quicker.. does any1 know how to or any sites that tells u the proper tuning for the vtec?
another question... i went on to ebay looking for a vtec controller an saw they had all these lil cheap no name controllers.. i read up on them basically they're doing the same thing as the more expensive one's... only difference is that the expensive controllers u can tune your air and fuel curve.. so i just wanted to know what would be the better controller to get? and do they really make a big difference with a vtec controller?

there's a reason why honda invented vtec to kick in in the 5,200 RPM range, that's because it's designed for high RPMs. Do you even know how vtec works? If vtec kicks in too early it will cause a loss in performance, too late and you'll be missing out on the valuable power range. If you don't have a heavily modded car then I wouldn't suggest a vtec controller, also if you don't know anything about vtec controllers, or even vtec in general I wouldn't suggest you getting one. ;)

yeah i know how it works its jus that i was listening to what other people had to say i guess.. cuz i wanted to know wut should be the next step in moddin my car an a lot of people told me i should get a vtec controller.......... so thats why i was doin research on it before i even buy it

you could get a VAFCII to adjust VTEC, but if its engaged to early, it tends to bog the car down a little....kinda hurts more than it helps.....
