It's kind of a pain man. I'd give it a 7 or 8. You will probably have to drop the exhaust, and remove the drive shaft. The most difficult part ironically is going to be getting the tranny cooler lines off with out destorying them. Besides getting the engine back against the transmission with the torque converter studs lining up with the flywheel, what's listed above will probably give you the most headaches.

Have you ever swapped a transmission? You may want to get a manual as reference. Make sure that the torque converter has been clicked in 3 times before putting the transmission back into the truck. I don't believe they state that in some of the manuals I've seen, but if you don't, you will ruin the transmission pump.

I wouldnt say to hard, yea you have to remove the driveshaft and stuff, but that takes like 5-10 mins, at least on a manuel z28. A friend and I were able to pull his tranny out and get the biult one in, in maybe 2-3 hours ?

Id say hard if you dont have the tools and no real clue what your doing

For one, this is not a Chevy or a manual. This is a tranmission swap even I am weary to do. There's no way this is getting done in 2-3 hours with out air tools, transmission jack, lift, and a miracle. I imagine he is limited to the amount of tools that I am - small set of tools, two jacks, and jack stands. I've done a similar swap, I was soar, pissed off and soaked in transmission fluid by the time it was done. Been through much worse though, that's why I rate it a 7 or 8.

Ummm, no need to get upset, I was just saying it isnt that hard, and we also had 1 jack and 4 jackstands, no air tools.

I was simply giving my expierence, and I didnt expect it to differ by much.
