Access to Front End

hey everybody...i'm working on my friend's 95 Z24 2.3 liter....we are attempting to replace the head gasket but keep running into roadblocks. today, we removed the engine mount to begin removal of drivebelts and then everything else required go remove front end, but had no luck. can't get enough clearance to remove other half of engine mount that is bolted on the engine, can't get clearance to remove drivebelt, and can't get clearance for anything else. we are are tempted to remove the damn engine just to do this job. any suggestions?
