beautiful car, but the nsx should've ripped that SS out of the hole shot. but from a roll its exactly as you would describe it. i also saw a few videos of cobalt SS's on the dyno at streetfire.net there was a black one iwht just an exhuast putting down 250whp. thats pretty impressive. and the one with just a intake is putting donw 240whp.

The newer ones have different headlights, but I'm not sure how to tell what year that one was. Maybe the newer flip up headlight ones have the same engine as the brand new ones with non flip up headlights.

This one did have flip up lights, but I still dunno what exact year the damn thing was...grrr. I'm so pissed at myself for not thinking to ask, I always ask that when I talk to the other guy. :banghead:

That would be my camera girlfriend and she doesnt do any crack...that I know of :lol2:
Although I'll admit, she's awefull with a camera, but she's the best I could do for the night. Also, coming in at a total of 115 pounds, soaking wet with a full stomach, she's much better for performance than my 200 pound Mexican buddy. :iceslolan

the only reason people here are hating the SS is the same reason they hate on the SRT-4. Some jerks just cant fathom the fact that a car that costs 3 or even 4 times less then thier overpriced cars is kicking the crap out of them.

Maybe I'm not used to riding shotgun w/camera, but I couldn't barely hear your car over the vtec monster...any exhaust work done to the SS? Thanks for the Proof

Yeah, when I started pulling away from him he let off. The first vid my bumper was maybe 5 inches in front his his. That one we let off more due to the traffic light that was 1/8 mile up the road, but I was still ahead slighty when we did let off. He did say that if I hadnt nailed the limiter in 2nd I woulda pulled away from him like I did the first race(didnt get the first run on camera)

Depends on what part of town you live in. Ft. hills, Awatukee and Scottsdale are very nice for the most part. On the other hand, there's most of Tempe, South Phoenix and some parts of Mesa that are for lack of a better word...ghetto. :disappoin

I think he get so into many races is because carbon fiber hood screams race me.
Paint your hood black and add a fake hood scoop and I bet you will get a lot more people trying to race you.

Look a few posts above this one for explainations of the number of my numerous races. As for the fuzz, I'm fairly picky about where and when I run a car, along with having some pretty good cop karma. I'm always watching out ahead and behind me when I drive anyway, so I usually have a good idea if I'm being watched or not. Can't stay lucky forever though...

I think that u might have raced a 95-97 nsx because 95 was the first year the introduced the "SportShift" Formula 1-inspired shifting system, which was controlled by a small lever behind the steering wheel. which would explain why it sounded like an automatic and also in the thrid vid when he drives of it sounds like he down shifted. the stats are
Production: 780
Engines: 3.0 V6 270 bhp @ 7100 rpm, 210 lb-ft @ 5300 rpm.
Performance: 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 14.0 seconds.
and i think they tested it with a manual to get that. so the sport shift might be a little slower.

Now that I've been able to reach 14 psi I've acquired somewhat of an invincible ego that requires shattering before it gets me into any trouble.

The first vid happend like I explained in the story...neither of us were making a move, so I got on it for a bit to let him know I was ready. Then I slowed back down and waited for him to line up with me but he nailed it before he got totally even. He was infact the first one to hit the gas though so the little gap wasn't really too big of a deal. What killed is was the fact that I was pulling on him pretty good but nailed the rev-limiter, which gave him a chance to catch up.
Also, it looks like he shuts down short in both races because we ran out of runway to continue our little battles, but in both races I was ahead a bit on him. The first vid I was maybe 5 inches ahead when he shut down and in the dig he was at my door. If my G/F wouldnt have spazzed out and actually got the footage of the first race, then It would have been much easier to tell the quicker of the two cars. That one we both were dead even and both hit the gas at the same time. I made no shifting errors either and ended up with about 1/2 - 1 car in front of him.
As for going for larger game, I plan on it. But beggers can't be chooses and it's not always that easy to say..."I think I'd like to run an 06 Sti tonight, lets go find one!" :icon16: So I'll get them as they come.

Ok that was a little bit of a rip on your fake hood scoop, but I guess I can understand why the company that built your hood didn’t set it up to be real. A real hood scoop does look a little odd.

Ok that was a little bit of a rip on your fake hood scoop, but I guess I can understand why the company that built your hood didn’t set it up to be real. A real hood scoop does look a little odd.

is that chevy's ground effect kit on the cobalt?? honestly i think the cobalt ss/sc looks a little ugly from the back because of the tail, the other models look decent, i've seen one of the ss/sc before and it looks a lil bulky like a box from the back, otherwise any angles looks pretty nice on the cobalt

That's the 272 concept or something like that. Very nice car, I love the kit that they have on that. I'd also much rather have the spoiler on that one than the thing that's on mine. Also, my scoop is somewhat functional. It's not a ram air or anything, which would be mostly pointless on a blown car like mine anyway, but it does take in cold air from outside the car and push it over the blower/engine, then back out in front of the windshield.

The first vid happend like I explained in the story...neither of us were making a move, so I got on it for a bit to let him know I was ready. Then I slowed back down and waited for him to line up with me but he nailed it before he got totally even. He was infact the first one to hit the gas though so the little gap wasn't really too big of a deal. What killed is was the fact that I was pulling on him pretty good but nailed the rev-limiter, which gave him a chance to catch up.
Also, it looks like he shuts down short in both races because we ran out of runway to continue our little battles, but in both races I was ahead a bit on him. The first vid I was maybe 5 inches ahead when he shut down and in the dig he was at my door. If my G/F wouldnt have spazzed out and actually got the footage of the first race, then It would have been much easier to tell the quicker of the two cars. That one we both were dead even and both hit the gas at the same time. I made no shifting errors either and ended up with about 1/2 - 1 car in front of him.
As for going for larger game, I plan on it. But beggers can't be chooses and it's not always that easy to say..."I think I'd like to run an 06 Sti tonight, lets go find one!" :icon16: So I'll get them as they come.
Maybe I didn't see it right, it just looked like he had you in the roll, yet you had him slightly in the dig and since you had him in the dig, it leads me to believe that if everything was perfect, you would have clearly had him in the roll as well. But actually if it was a sportshift then it couldn't really launch the right way could it?
Regardless, I'm not going to go reinstall quicktime to check myself, you had a good run with an nsx and thats all that needs to be said. :cheers:

It may not flow a whole lot of air directly over the blower, but it does evacuate some hot air from under the hood and replace it with cool air from outside the car. Just kinda keeps it circulated, which is better than nothing. As for my k&n...it gets nothing but cold outside air. It goes down into the driverside fender area between the front bumper and the fender lining. Took over an hour to install, but it's a great setup. Just have to watch out for giant puddles is all. :uhoh:

You could get it, watch the vid and delete it like some of the others did. It's not the greatest quality vid ever(it's a bit dark)but it's still a pretty good set of runs. Plus the NSX sounds like sex. It's worth it just to hear that car. :naughty:

I downloaded quicktime just to see your video. I beleive you. The 02's and newer NSXs were the ones who had fixed headlights, and 97 or 98 or newer had the 3.2L V6 with 290 bhp.
