Well everyone as you know and been following the situation of my car... today is the last day i will have it. I called the other peoples' insurance company to settle it and what they offered me was $4'187.15 for my car. They "claimed" it totalled but to me... just the left side suspension is gone other then the frame nothing is bent. I took out everything i can save on it and so far i only got my armrest center console, bulbs, cd player, and all 3 sway bars. The rims are going with the car sigh* and now with this money my parents says its time for a new car to me which means "another used car" Lol. So farewell to all my DSM'ers in AF. The tow truck guy should be at my shop anytime this after noon to pick it up. But anywho... im thinking of a gst or a gst spyder. So can anyone tell me the difference in performance wise?

I think the GST spyder is a little heavier, other than that they are the same thing. Good luck dude.

Go with the regular GST so you wont have to mess around with the convertible top. Plus it loses alot of chassis stiffness without a real roof. I think of it like this: have a cloth roof that can be ripped into easily, leak, make alot of wind noise, worse handling, more weight, high cost to fix, etc.... or a nice hard top.

shit yah, my freind has a gst convertible and he wishes it was a hard top. his shit was ripped into and his radio got jaked, gets alot of road/wind noises, and it leaks pretty bad. it always smell like some jrunkass pissed in it. :eek7: i would go with the hard top.

spyders are nice for the summer...but they do suck because they tend to leak if not taken care of very well....and if the supports wiggle themselves loose, you get nasty rattles. they handle EXTREMELY well however. i wouldn't say there is much of a handling difference compared to a hardtop gst.

Yeah that's a lot for an rs. Did you ask if you could buy the car back? Usually they just want the $$ for towing to your house.

I bought my 95 GS-T for 4k and it had 84k miles on it. That 4k should be enough,
but if I were you I would get a 1g GSX and buy a built motor to put in there.

Why are you saying farewell to us DSM'ers if you are getting another one?

They gave me 4K for my RS and roughly 5K for medical problems, which I had none :). Get a used GST or GSX and you wont regret it. Try to find one with a 6bolt swap already. I saw you wanted the new Eclipse. They are nice but expenisve, heavy and on top of that are FWD. I would go witha 2G turbo Eclipse :). Good luck

Why couldn't you swap the rims out? Why would they care unless they gave you the value for them with the check they wrote out to you.
