Lancer Evo vs 3000gt but messed up ending.

Wow i always thought the lancer evos would beat my stock 3000gt N/a but i guess i was wrong. So i was up on this road called broad street saturday night. and this evo comes up next to me and starts reving his engine. So i was like okay ur going to smoke me but ill race. so we get off the line and im behind since i suck at getting off. and i catch up to him and im running next to him he puts in third about the same time i put in third and we are flying around 80 and then i hit fourth and he hits it and i start pulling away. Im a few car lengths infront of him when the light changes and we both hit our brakes. So i tell him nice car and we start off again the same way but i had to get onto the high way. I get onto it and drive about 10 miles and i see these two cops with their lights on. So i pull over and they say were u just street racing on broad and i said "Naw i just was going with the flow of traffic." so i got a wreckless ticket. but that was funny as hell. I had a few other kills that night against an audi and i beat a Acura 3.2 tl.

Are you sure it was an Evo and not an RS? The Evos all come with at least 270-ish horsepower and a lot less weight than our cars. And the last time I checked, they were running 13s. I think you raced an RS that just happened to have the evo body kit. Nice kill though. And you gotta love those reckless endangerment tickets.

hell naw...^... I hate those tickets.. I get them all the time (lol)... I went to take off from a stoplight... the officer said I was doing a/b 50... and said I spun tires and slid the ass of the car around... he wrote on the ticket that the back tires were smoking... so I am hoping to get off, seeing as the Stealths (base) were FWDs...

Yeah it could have been an Rs because i was like wow he either really sucks at driveing or somethign is wrong but i dont care it was a kill yeah i love those wreckless tickets its my 2nd one. going for 3 now

yeah, it prolly was an RS... b/c I f'ed with two Evos' ... one stock, one stage 3 turbo... both ate me up pretty bad... I do have a considerable amount less HP than the VR4... but I have 800lbs less...

I still hate those tickets... I had 8 points on my license and didn't know... lol, I'd go and fight... walk away with ~$100 court costs.. and (I didn't know) 2 points... and the last time I got pulled... the officer said, I should arrest you right now...

Then I get pulled after being at work for approximately 30 mins... he got me for 50 in a 35 (I was sitting at a stoplight) and wreckless driving (tires screeched as I shifted to second on f'ed up transmission)... 30 mins later, I get called downstairs by the secretary... and two officers are waiting for me... I made sure he wrote that he saw the back tires spinning and throwing smoke... (b/c 1st off, there was no smoke, it was only spinning for a split second, 2nd... it's a FWD A-hole)...

Lol that shit is funny because all the cops ever want to do is meet there mark for the month. so they have to make some bullshit excuse to give someone a ticket. yeah hey im only 17 and i have had 2 wrecklesses lol my insurance is now going to skyrocket. but o well wut can i do just race some more in my 3000gt next time i talk to a cop im going to say hey you sit in this car and try not to speed.

^^... yeah, cops always have to ask me what my car is... they always think some exotic... or they're really snotty and talk crap a/b it... the last time I got stopped... I asked the cop if he had ever driven a car at 140... he said no, looked at me and I cracked a smile and shook my head...
He asked me what I was driving... I pointed to it... he said where was I at, I told him that I was racing... at the track... he asked where was a track long enough... I said my buddy's got his own private stretch... he didn't b/l me... I told him to look at the speedo in my car... and to look up the car... he was shocked and said whatever... and continued writing the ticket... I love to be a smart-ass, especially when I know what I'm talking a/b...

My last stop was by a cop who had seen me spinning around in a parking lot with a few friends(2002 Impreza RS, 1989 Mustang) and just wanted to say that he liked my car. Apparently he'd already met his quota, and let me off with a warning. By far the coolest cop I've met.

Damn, lucky u... back when I had My 1990 Toyota Corolla hatchback... (my buddy had a 1996 Mustang)... we got caught leaving a field... A resident heard my exhaust and called the cops... he came out there and my buddy (dumbass) told the cop it wasn't us... while he was throwing down mud from underneath his fender... and my car was right in front of his mustang... covered in mud...
the officer could have gotten us for damage to public property... but he let us off... said we reminded him of his days in high school... thankfully my buddy had decided his lie was stupid and told the truth... b/c the cop was ready to get us if need be...

Technically the cops can't ticket you for fooling around in a parking lot unless you are really being dangerous (or the owner called the cops) because it's private property.
For the most part they seem to tolerate the parking lot fooling around because it's better then doing that on the streets (you have more room and you aren't endangering some elses life) but they are obliged to give you a warning.

That's what I figured. It's not like we were doing anything entirely too dangerous, just getting sideways with the aid of plastic trays :naughty:

lol... Idk... right after I got my Stealth... I was dropping said friend off to pick up his Mustang at the mall... and I spun the car around (180-style) to get next to his car and talk... mall security saw this and was infuriated... after I saw their slow-ass Jeep 4.0 POS coming, I hauled ass... Apparently my buddy's mustang couldn't haul ass like my stealth... and he got caught... the security gaurd wrote down his plate and lied to him... told him that he had my plate and stuff... said he was on the way to the PD to get a warrant... I told my buddy it was a bunch of bs... he was scared shitless... I said I wouldn't worry until the cops showed up in my driveway... needless to say, they never did...
1st off the Jeep couldn't ever get close enough to my car to read the plate... so I wasn't worried... and second, there was no one else around to endanger (he parked out in left field)...
I did get a wreckless once for sliding around a Sonic Drive-in... it didn't help that I used to work for the guy, lol... b/c he knew who I was... he told them my name, and plate... they just put out a search on my car... caught me 2 parking lots over... I had pulled into a park, sideways... and popped the hood... to make sure everything was alright... but, before I could get outta the car, the cop came up... he thought I had been drinking... stopped me originally for a DWI, but couldn't get me for that, so he held me did the whole sobriety tests, and then found out a/b the whole Sonic thing... so I sat there for almost an hour...

Damn, that sucks man. Sorry you had to go through that.

I got outta the ticket though... I had just had a clutch put in... and the local guy f'ed it up... so I took it to Aamco... and he got it right ($900 later)... so I took the receipts to the DA and told her the transmission was f'ed up and I couldn't help but spin tires... she said there was something definitely faulty there (with $1700 of repairs, who could argue against that)... so it was reduced to Improper Equipment within 5 minutes of court...
I paid $110 and was outta there... no points, nothing...

you guys should have a LOT of fun in a few years when you get older and your insurance rates are "supposed" to go down. b/c i don't think they will, with all the tickets you have.

just be smart when street racing. don't do it all the time or where cops will definitely get you. i'll admit, i did some last night, had some fun with a 5.0 mustang. i knew i would get beat outta the hole, but then i punched it a few times from a 40 roll, and hung right there with him. but luckily there aren't cars rolling on this main road sunday night, nor are there cops out.

i'll admit, i've been pulled over 5 times for speeding. the first 3 tickets i got off my record by taking the Driver's Safety Course and/or deferring to adjudication. the 4th i got i was just f***in fed up b/c i had my radar on, saw it go off, but just didn't slow down fast enough. i didn't wanna do anymore crappy waste-of-my-time driver's safety course, so i just paid the 180 for the ticket and that was it. one ticket on my record by 21.

so the 5th time i got pulled over...this is good. i was driving to my grandparents' for thanksgiving on a two lane country highway. i was doing about 90 to make up lost time behind some slow nubs. coming down a long straightaway, i'm bookin it, got the windows down, music blaring (so i definitely could not hear the radar if it went off). i see an oddly familiar shaped grill of a car off in the distance approaching, so i let off the gas. i then look at my radar detector (Escort Passport Solo S2) only to see two instances of K-band radar spiking up to the top (which means there's a VERY clear signal within 2 miles from its source). so i then mash the brakes, only to see the familiar grill of the car approaching to belong to a cop. as he passes by me, i look to my rearview to see him bust a u-turn, and i just wait in disgust at myself for him to turn his flashers on. by this time i'm going the speed limit and i think i had my right blinker on to pull off the road even before the flashers came on.

so i play it cool: I rip that damn radar detector off my windshield, stash it away under a map and rub the suction cup marks away. i pull way off to the side, roll the window down, turn the car off, place both hands on the door where he can clearly see them and that i have nothing to hide.

then it only gets better...
cop: do you know why i pulled you over?
me: i think i was going a bit fast, officer.
cop: do you know how fast you were going?
me: i don't know, i think around 75 (its a 55 zone, and 75 was a TOTAL B.S. lie, but i played the ignorant idiot card)
cop: no, you were going much faster than 75, 91 mph to be exact! now i don't have a problem with someone speeding a little bit, but that is going way too fast!
me: sorry officer, i didn't realize i was going that fast

so then he runs my plates, it all checks out. he asks where i'm going, i tell him the truth that i'm just going to a town to visit family for thanksgiving. then he said the following: "i'm going to let you off. you just need to slow down and drive safely."

at that point i was soo happy, but i gave him a calm and collected "thank you". i almost shat my pants! i had to call my best bud (who owns a 71 chevelle SS w/ 454 and a 97 prelude) and just share how i finally got off or got a warning when pulled over.

it just goes to show that your luck has gotta turn around sometime. hopefully after your 4th ticket, when you get pulled over the 5th time, the cop will be as cool to you as he was to me, and let you go.

i must be the only 1 on here thats never gotten a ticket. i have been pulled once tho cuz the cop though i was a white 3000gt that cops were in pursuit with a few days b4 an the 3000gt out ran them, lol. but i floored it from a light one night not knowing a cop was behind me, an right when i hit about 50 he was aways back an i saw him flash his lights so i let right off the gas an he came flyin up on me an didnt do anything. im lucky he flashed his lights cuz if not i would have kept goin to like 100.
but anyways. so anyways, im guessin ur in richmond since u said this happened on broadstreet. i got up to richmond sometimes but i live like 40 minutes from there. so maybe 1 day ill see u up there :)

i got pulled over for racing on 3 consecutive stops with some integra vtec, i beat him all 3 stops. it started as a simple cruise with my cuz, (he was on his 04 civic with 2 chiks) and since the chiks had a 12 year old brother, i had to take him on on my back seat, and i already had my friend on the passenger seat. the integra started to rev his engine and i couldnt help it. so we raced and when we get pulled over by one of those undercover gray crown victorias, the cop said that racing was a felony. i told him that i was just cruising, worse part is i had no insurance so they were threatning on inpounding my car and arresting me, but then they see i had a kid in the back so he gives me a lecture that its stupid to be racing with a minor (hes probably right) so he decides to let me and the integra go without warnings or ticket.
when i met up with my cuz he passed right next to me when i got pulled over and was telling me he was going to peel out in front of the cop so he can chase him and i can make a run for it. i told him that was just retarded, they would have called for backup. but yeah, got really lucky.

lol, I can say I've actually run from the cops on two occasions... One time, on the way taking my g/f home... I stopped down a dead-end road to fix some rice(neons came unhooked, lol) and when I was leaving... this SUV got allover my ass... I was doing the speed limit and everything... then I got pissed when he kept riding that close, and I took off... by the time I got to 120... I looked up and saw Police lights... I was screwed, so I kept going... I slung down her side road and cut the car, all the lights, etc... and a/b 30 seconds later... I see the SUV go flying by... I was so lucky...

Another time, I didn't really do anything wrong, the cops never cut on their lights or anything... but they were all over me... I was going around a curve and two officers happened to be hidden away in the curve... I guess it looked like I was speeding... but I wasn't, and they decided to run plates or something...
so my buddy looks back and sees them coming, I get up to the stop sign and cut in front of traffic, and start cutting through little side streets... I lose the one cop... I drop my friend off and head home...
On the way back, the other cop gets behind me, then beside me... looks at me real hard... I slightly rev the engine at the light and haul ass outta there (not exceeding "legal" limits, but I get there as fast as possible)...

Yeah i live in Varina and im about 30 mins away. was expecting to see alot of peps up there but barely anyone showed up. but when they do its a blast ya know. yeah we should race some time lol id be riding in a base red 1996 3000gt
