best type of subs overall

Wich one would you more then likely preffer to you're freinds overalll memphis, Mmats, Jl, JBL, Rockford fosgate,

JBL is the only one i would get from that list. I am a ported person and JBL is the only one from that list that would sound good in a ported enclosure. don't know what memphis or the second one is. jl is okay not a lot of experience with them though. JBL is all right so is rockford fosgate in a sealed enclosure with a large enough vehicle.

best subs for what?

Jl makes some awesome subs, most have good SQ and still decent SPL

MMats and memphis make some good SPL subs if youre into comps or loud DDs

and as far as fosgate and jbl, i would prolly only recommend their top of the line subs.. T2 and i want to say GTi?

anyways, out of that list I would choose JL Audio. I have a 12W6V2 and it is amazing! It has awesome sound quality and pounds like a mother fucker.

Only drivers worth owning from JL ate the w7 w6v2 and w1v2...or at least production modles. the wo's can be licked up for a good price and where decent entry level.
However the w1v2 is only loud in larger numbers, w6v2 isnt loud enough for the price IMO. if you want loud and good SQ from a small number of drivers from JL the w7 is the only way to go.
(4 w1v2 12's and 500w wasnt louder than me)

oh ya (dont feel like editing) check the stickies...in one there is a link to a list of Bad, Good, Great, and Highly Reccomended companies...this is based strictly on performance and not price or company reputation (eD is in the good or higy reccomended...i advise yo uto never buy directly form eD ever...too many bad things happening to people and my own personal bad experences with them)

not disagreeing with you, just thought id mention that i just ordered two nine.1s and 250 sq ft of edead from eD and it arrived just fine. hopefully there are no problems with the equipment when i hook it up

im not saying it comes broken or they never send it. Im saying Ben and his cronies wouldnt mind forggeting to send out a bunch of peoples amps and saying they are lost on korea but they where built in china. Im also saying he has some serious complexity...its his stuff or no one elses.
