I want to take a B18c1 gsr block and put a B16a2 head on it. They will both be builtfor turbo. first, is this what they consider Ls/Vtec? Second, is this a good setup for turbo. I am not sure about the turbo setup because of the head. Third, are all B16 heads Vtec and does it matter if it is Vtec or not for turbo builds. What is recommended for the type of motor that I am trying to build. B18c1 block, what head?

just get the whole GSR engine and dont fuck w/ it....and for boost, that engine will hold until around 350whp.....so its fine!

I'm in the process of boosting my GSR, but you need to make sure the engine is in good condition before you boost it....compression and leakdown test are good!

Read my Boost How To stciky in the boost section (first honda section)....its not done, but you might understand a little more afterwards...

What is recommended for the type of motor that I am trying to build. B18c1 block, what head? First, no. LS means an LS block, not GSR. LS/VTEC is taking an LS motor and swapping a vtec head such as the gsr head onto it, therefor, ls/vtec. Second, yes a gsr block is good for turbo but you'll find that a lot of people prefer ls/vtec for turbo. The ls block tends to like the forced induction a little better than the gsr. For vtec builds a lot of people used to do it on non vtec motors and say that it is better without vtec but as of lately people have been building the turbos on their vtec motors which has turned out to produce a little more power. And if you are building your motor with the b18c1 block, then also use the b18c1 head, or the c5, or just c, but don't go back to the B16 heads.

if you plan to get more than 350whp out of it, you're going to need to upgrade the internals....350whp is about the highest you can push the engine on stock parts. I'm lookin at a safe 300whp on my GSR....
