Thor might be getting his own DSM, YEAH!

Ok guys, I NEED YOUR ADVICE. Here is a possible candidate for MY OWN DSM!!! Looky looky, and tell me what you think.

Looks nice, but already has a few mods done to it. $6k sounds a little steep for 103k miles on it. Offer a little less and I think you have a good deal!

Ok, well I'll do a quick cut and paste for those of you that are getting the broken link. Its a green 96 GSX with 103,000 miles, 5 spd, intake, 3" catless exhaust (thermo research or something I forgot the name), 5k on new brakes, rebuilt tranny and new clutch with ~15k miles, stock interior and 16" 3000gt rims. The only bad things he said were the master cylinder needs to be bled, the power antenna doesnt go up, and the seat as a few scratches http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&s=#). He wants $6000 obo for it. I got off the phone with him an hour ago and hes also has the front and back bumpers, headlights, and turbo spoiler from a 97-99 for an additional $400. The 97-99 body pieces arent painted, they are black primer. What do you guys think? The Kelly Blue Book says $5600 and I was thinking about offering him $5500 for the car. Is $400 a good price for the conversion? ANY and ALL input is VERY appreciated, I really want all the input on this car I can get.

I think with the added in body parts for $400, it makes a hell of a deal. Offer him the blue book and go from there. Good luck man.

400 is awesome for the conversion parts... If you buy those parts later you'll end up having well over 400 in just those.

Dude offer him $5000 for car and parts, but be willing to go up to $5500, not anything more...$400 of the parts is REAL cheap! Good luck!

Sounds like a good deal, try to talk him down a bit if possible. 400 for the conersion stuff is a sweet deal.

...... Fuck...... just talked to my dad, he kinda shot that down. I have a reliable as hell 2001 Cavalier with 30,000 miles and he wont let me go back 5 years and up 70,000 miles. He understands that I want a new car (I've had mine for 3 years) but he just doesnt think its smart to get a car that old with that many miles when I have a car like I do. I see his logic, but I am so sick of this god forsaken, cant pass, get stuck all the time, wheel spinning, shitting handling, and mediocre gas milage grandma car! He said he'd wouldnt care if I got a new car, he even said a Mustang or Camaro would be ok, just not an import with that many miles. He doesnt like Eclipses (because the are imports and they "come apart funny") but hes said one with less miles is what I should be going for. But less miles means, more $$$ and going into college I dont have much of that. Oh-fucking-well, there went a sweet car. Maybe I can find another lower milage one.

Damn that sucks. You could always use the AWD excuse, just get stuck in a ditch a few times this winter. If he says get an suv just roll the damn thing and then get an eclipse.

Ha, yeah, pulled out the AWD reason. He just doesnt want me to get one wth that many miles. Oh well, I will find one eventually. I will not let my DSM dream be crushed, I just need to wait.

Sorry man, my parents shot it out of the air, no DSM until spring. He emailed me today saying that something happened last night and he blew the tranny, so it all worked out in the end. But anyway, if anyone is interested the 97-99 conversion (front bumper, rear bumper, turbo spoiler and head lights) from him is still for sale and he wants $400 for it all.
