Has anyone had to replace the winch that holds the spare tire? Becuase of the salt and water exposure over the past 3 years on my 02 Trailblazer, the system rusted out and would not lower the tire. I had to cut the cable to get the spare out (unfortuanatly no other choice at the time) and need to replace the system. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Simple...had to replace mine a few months ago. There's only 3 bolts that hold the whole assembly in place. Even someone with little mechanical experience could do it with no problems.
