Torque converter?

Got a 68 chevelle with a 396 slightly modified with a th400 tranny. THe torque converter seems to be slipin just a tad. Perfect excuse to replace it with a new one. What stall speed and type do you recommend? I wanna know your opinions!

2500 to 3000 would be nice, but it depends on what you want.

Just out of curiosity, what apparent sysmptom happens to suspect a TC on a TH400? Particular noise? Slipping like a manual trans does?
I have the same set-up and would like to know what to look out for.
