This is my first model ever. Completely box stock. I was not very pleased with the paint job, but i think I'll use a can next time, cause i can't afford a good airbrush. Comments are welcome, any words of advice would be welcomed.

Looks very good for a 1st attempt. As you progress, you can try to do the window trim, to get it detailed as possible.

Nice job. Yeah, about the only thing you could add is the window trim, that would really set it off.
How did you paint it this time? It looks alright now. Cans work well, but you don't need a really expensive airbrush to get a decent paint job. A single-action from Badger or Paasche (Or even Testors, but some guys here don't like them) will work great. Plus keep an eye out for 40%-off coupons from AC Moore and Michaels, as they sell Badger and Testors airbrushes and you can get pretty good deals there.

I painted it with a cheap Testors airbrush. The paint wasn't thinned right, or maybe with the wrong thinner, all i had was "Airbrush Thinner", so(while you can't see it in photos) the paint job is a little rough.

by looking a little rough, you are probably looking at "orange peel" - paint surface resembles texture of an orange. thats not nessecarily caused by the airbrush or thinning ratio. if it was the wrong thinner, you probably wouldn't have been able to spray at all. most likely you were spraying too far away from the car so the paint was starting to dry before it hit the surface (correct me if i'm wrong someone). the same thing can happen with spray cans. next time try spraying a little closer to the car.

Try tamiya cans for painting the body.In most cases the finish can be better than using an airbrush.

Hey I like it. White's hard to do well, so good job.
For a more realistic look (especially from afar), try window trim and darkened panel lines. They can be scary to apply, but it's a good next step to try out.
