Rebuilding bottom end

Ok all,
I am planning on rebuilding my bottom end this summer and just wanted some advice. I have never taken on a task this large, and I am pretty scared to start. Any good writeups that you have come across, just general advice etc....

take your time, torque things down to spec, and make sure before you put something in, coat it with some oil, to prevent a hard start.

I'd do it with someone that has some experience.
When you say the "bottom end" are you doing a shortblock rebuild or just slapping in new bearings at the crank/rods?

Bearing, rings, journals, probably more, i dunno what else off the top of my head.

bottom end includes these parts:
pistons, rings, crankshaft, bearings, journals, oil pan gasket(and pan), etc, etc, everything under the head gasket.
