Timing Belt Slipt

my belt on my gt, i know the pistons aren't interface, and nothing is damaged.

I put in a new belt and tensioner, also retimed it, and now it back fires and wont idle

please help

you may have possible valve damage, regardless of interference or not. backfiring and not idling point to valve problems, and also seeing as your timing belt slipped, it may have jacked up valve timing. do a compression check
