I have a 97 Towncar and yesterday when I went to back out of my driveway my tires started to spin (I from boston and we just got a storm). My question is when my tires started to spin I heard this noise come from under the hood (sounded like mild errrr noise) I think it is the traction control kicking in. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
Randy
Thanks

I'm not 100% positive on this but I'm pretty sure the traclock is a Differential function rather than an ABS (braking) function on our cars.
I do know this makes a Calif. smog check on the Dyno impossible, they have to do it the old school way.
The noise you describe under the hood if either the ABS pump, or the suspension Air compressor. Both would be a normal "mild errrr noise".
The suspension Air compressor usually runs for 20 (from memory) seconds to level the rear end.
Thanks

Yes, it sounds just like the ABS pump when it gos into self chack at 13 mph. It does not sound like the air suspension pump
