Here's my finished Mazda RX8. What a pain to finish. I'll be making some mod version of this as well as the GT LM version.

Tnx guys for the comments. Can anyone suggest me and point me to some pics of a good rx8mod?
Like a tommy kaira special mod or something popular and recognizable for an RX mod. Im thinking of the peopsi rx8 mod but its already racy like the rx8 LM version that I'll be doing. I want a pimped rx8!

Post that M3 soon!

Holy shit, thats like Gran Turismo worthy model right there. You do this stuff professionally?

edit: nevermind, saw your website, man I gotta get in on this. I love art and cars, but always been to lazy to draw, but I'm constantly on the computer. ::sniff sniff:: I smell a future addiction, lol.

Tnx man, just a hobby. But if you want to be serious there's serious money you can get. I've had offers to make game car for mods, concept car modelling jobs, etc. But usually I turn them down coz this is just hobby for me. Something to relax.

Yup. There are 2 types of work.
The first involves marketting materials where they need a model of a car and additional work will be the parts modelled separately. They even ask to model the custom parts they want the customer to pick and add to the base car. Its all done in a 3d webformat like swift or something they programmed. Some work are simpler just asking to render for print ads.
Second of course is for games. Pc games usually outsource car modelling around the world. The most preferred format they work with is 3dsmax but if you can convert your model to 3dsmax perfectly then they dont care where you make it. Really tedious stuff bcoz the whole car must have one huge map that is used for the uv mapping the whole car. So racing cars are hard to make mapping all those decals on the body.

YES how do you convert your model to .max and .3ds, i have 3ds max and maya and ive tried with no luck, ive wanting to ask you for ages now, and how do you make all those decals for race cars??

Wow thats some really nice work there, what software do you use to make that stuff?

lightwave, so do i but im NOWHERE as good as him lol.

Your best bet to convert it is to have someone who has 3dsmax do it for you since they know how to use it. For 3ds just freeze it at level 2 subpatch then triple it then export to 3ds layer by layer. Its very complicated and time consuming.

yea i only have a tiny bit of knowledge with 3ds, does the majority of the modles you sell sell in 3ds and max format??

ok i did what you said raytracer and i saved it as .3ds, but when i went to open it in 3ds max 7 it wouldnt let me, what am i doin wrong? all the polygons were triangles.

Tell me exactly what you did and what happened when you imported the file into 3dsmax? They really turn into tri. 3ds format supports only tri not poly.

okay i oppened a model selected it all, then subpatched on level 2, then i trippled th whole thing, went file>export>3ds. and saved it and opened 3ds and tried to open the model but it wouldnt let me, is it b/c i didnt do it layer by layer?

If lightwave was able to export the mesh to 3ds without errors then it should be fine. Look how big the 3ds file is. Its should be a few megs. You can download the 3ds viewer here to make sure.
