Since the 2006 sonata has come out, i was considering buying an 04/05. I would like to know how good these cars are
like reliability, my next car purchase will be the last one for a while
interior quality, the car im driving now breathes when the windows close
Ease of Maintenance, i dont want another car where i have to hoist the engine to change a spark plug.
thanks

I personally drive an 02 Sonata and can praise it top to bottom. It has almost 60k miles on it now and I haven't had to do anything other than routine maintenance, although I do believe that the clutch is about to go. Not the car's fault though, last owner's wife had this as her first manual trans vehicle.. Everything is set up nicely, all of the weatherstripping is where it should be, and these cars do ride extremely nice. One of my friends remarked that it rode better and had almost as many options as his 05 Cadillac. The trunk is the largest I can say that I have seen on a modern car and the seats are actually comfortable, not rock hard or "water-beddish." As for ease of maintenace, no problems that I've found. Replaced the headlight bulb the other day and I couldn't believe how easy it was to simply loosen a couple of nuts and slip the headlight out. But be sure to go drive one, that's where you'll learn the most.
