What is everyone's opinion on exhaust systems off ebay? Anybody have one? This is one I'm thinking of getting:

I mean that looks like it isn't really constructed well. If you are looking for a relatively cheap exhaust system you should try tsudo. I have one as do some other members and none have any complaints about it.

Yeah, I was looking at the Tsudo one but it says it only fits gst and I have a TSI and I wasn't sure if it would fit or not, the guy hasn't responded yet. Here it is:

First is your car awd? Caue the first one is for a gsx the second is for a gst...the talon and eclipse are the same but the gst and gsx are different. Also IMO that Xtune exhaust looks better for performance because it has so few bends.

I dont know man, they didnt even spell "Warranty" right... I wouldnt get it. My friend got his Megan Racing for like $380 shipped and it fit great and sounds good. I'd suggest that.

Lol I just had to get the brand name...

I wouldn't buy from them. The ad is vague and they can't spell. They're also pushing the JDM vibe.

Options, from cheapest:

1) Go to a muffler shop and get a custom exhaust
2) Buy a Megan or equivalent eBay exhaust
3) Buy a used brand name system, condition varies ;) Be prepared to wait awhile to find what you're looking for
4) Buy a new brand name system

I'd personally go custom or new brand name.

Brand name, used = 180 for the catback.
RRE, new = 230 for the DP.

Good fit, sounds nice.

It is AWD, Tsi=GSX, vice versa. I went to the local muffler shop to see if they could do it and they said they can't, when I know they can because people on here have gotten it done. So i decided to go with a cheap one of ebay. I already have a Megan Racing DP and muffler so all I really need is the pipes in between.

But anyway does anyone know if the exhaust for GST would fit on the GSX/TSI???

I think it has been already said in this forum, but the GST's and GSX's DO NOT have the same exhaust layout. If you have a gsx/tsi awd get the system that I labeled for the awd setup.

My Apexi exhaust sounds real nice and deep. I am happy I didnt have to pay no $500 for an exhaust. Hell I got the car in my sig and all those parts all for $1500 (car ran great and body is perfect). I know its not a turbo, but you cant pass up a car like that for $1500. The only thing I added to my car, so far, was the turbo style rear spoiler!!

If you did a search you would have found the thread I posted a week ago about the Megan cat-back coming out for AWD soon. Scottsee, is that muffler shop price for ss?

No, TSI just means turbo. There are TSI FWD's and TSI AWD's. The exhaust layout is different. You can put a GSX/TSI AWD exhaust on a GST/TSI FWD with minor modifcations but you cannot put a FWD exhaust on an AWD car, this is because the FWD exhaust goes down the driveshaft channel.
BTW: It does't matter what brand you get and exhaust is and exhaust if they are the same size and same bending method the perfomance will be the same (or so close on a street car you wont know). On my talon i bought a thermal r&d exhaust i bought it from a shop and when i got it they brought me in a room and inserted the exhaust into my anus then charged me $550 (that was only cat-back).

haha, I'm sorry to hear that...but thanks, that cleared it up for me...but one more question, I just want to make sure that the GSX's and TSI's have the same exhaust setup correct?

If the TSI is AWD. if not, then you'll need a GST exhaust.

I am pretty sure the Talons are exactly the same as the Eclipses in every mechanical way. Just a different name and body panels.

ok first off.. do you have a 1g or 2g and also obviously you don't know much about dsm's but that's ok TSI is a GSX and GST... TSI means "Turbo Sport Intercooled" it just means it's turbo so is your car a talon/eclipse or lazer
Talons come in TSI/ESI FWD/AWD, Eclipse GSX/GST FWD/AWD and so on only different are the gas tank is in different places, the t-case, axel and the car weighs about 500 lbs more or less but that should help you... and if anything evin though it's expensive i would go with apexi N1 3" catback exhaust with the 80mm inlet 115mm outlet that's 4.5" outlet I'm running that on my 91 Eclipse GSX sound good with 3" test pipe it's a nice low smooth tone.

TSI is a GSX and GST...

Umm they aren't all the same with the exhausts...

TSi=GST (Front wheel drive)
TSi AWD=GSX (All wheel drive)

The AWD's and FWD's each run different exhaust routes.

I know dsm's I dident specificly say that a GST was AWD GST=fwd GSX=awd. I was just saying the base models and what platforms they come in but if he dident understand what i said you clearifyed it

Well I'm not saying you didn't know what you were talking about. But the way you put it was a little confusing even to me. So I figured I'd put it like that regardless if you knew what you were talking about or not.
