Well guys, I think I'll be leaving the DSM world soon.

Yeah, I have actually put my car up for sale finally. I'll be sad as hell to see it go. But I thik its time to spend my money elsewhere (considering I'm moving to texas and me and my girl plan to start planning for the future there.) So I think It's time to let my baby go. I'm selling her for $16,000 or best offer. Willing to take less though. (this is a starting point for negotiations.) If anyone was interested giving my baby a good home, the autotrader link is listed below.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?&min_price=&distance=50&dealer_id=57269976&lang=en&bkms=1134154186192&end_year=1999&address=92508&make=MIT&start_year=1997&certified=&car_year=1998&car_id=193521667&cardist=0&isp=y&max_price=&advanced=&search_type=both&model=ECLIP#vdptop

Also you should view my Car Domain site for more details on the car
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/634020/1

This is the full list of the Modifications the car comes with.

All options were included (Leather, Power Sunroof, Power Seat, 10 disk changer, etc),2 Kicker 12 inch Sub's, Kicker Sub Amp, 2 Kicker 6-9's in rear, 2 Kicker Tweeters in dash, 2 Kicker 5-7's in the doors, Rockford Fosgate amp for mids and highs,Clarion Motorized in Dash TV,Clarion CD/MP3/VCD/DVD player, A/C Power converter with A/V inputs to play videogames

Preformance Mods include

Act 2600 clutch, Apexi N1 3" downpipe, 3" exhaust and Hks 3"-5" muffler, Greddy Type s blow off valve, Autometer Boost/Vac gauge, Autometer Air fuel Gauge, AGP Garrett T3/T4 60-1 turbo, Tial 38mm Wastegate AGP Spearco FMIC, Greddy Profec B Spec 2 Black, HKS Turbo Timer Type 1 Black, Dejon 3.5 Intake / K&N Air Filter, DSM LINK, 95 GSX Eprom ECU, 950cc Fuel Injectors, Walbro 255 HP Fuel Pump, Aeromotive Fuel Regulator w/ fuel lines, SBR TPM Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Ceramic Brake Pads, B&M Short Shifter

Anyways what I'm having trouble deciding is what car I'm gonna get after I sell my DSM. I plan on spending around $20,000 dollars. New or used doesn't matter. Preferably newer considering I plan to have this car for a while. I mean no matter what I decide to get (in my price range) I feel like I'm downgrading. I mean nothing stock in my price range is even nearly as fast as my car. And this is an issue because I plan on keeping it stock. Several Cars I have been thinking about were the Honda S2000, Nissan 350z, Dodge SRT-4, Pontiac Trans-AM (hopefully WS6). Chevy Camaro (SS), or a Subaru WRX. Well I need some help deciding on what I should get next. Can you guys help. Also if you can, point out some cars I haven't mentioned. But they have to be decently fast, nice styling, decent reliablity, and not hella old like a Grand National or something (BTW I love those cars). Thanks for the help in advance and It's been fun being a DSMer.

i would go with the WRX just in case you are addicted to hearing the turbo spool up, ( like most dsmers) then go with that, you cant really argue against a sube, AWD turbo? plus its a great family car too, and easy on the insurance, plus if you want to do little upgrades, you still can.... but it is perfect stock!

:iagree:

It's a 4 door sedan, awd, and turbo! Plenty of room for kids in the back seat if you decide to have kids!

I'd go with the ws6 trans-am with a supercharger. Those are some pretty powerful cars stock and with a charger they are just monsters.

Or I am sure you can find an 03 Cobra for about that if you look hard enough. those are great out of the box cars. About 12.7 1/4 mile stock and cheap as hell to upgrade.

Wow, If I could find an 03 cobra for that price, I'd almost for sure get that. But Like I said, I dont plan on doing any performance mods to the next car because I plan on getting a warrenty and all that junk. Maybe like exhaust only, Just dont wanna void the warrenty like I did with the DSM.

you can find an 03 cobra for about 22k. That's a hard top with probably 40k miles on it.

Well, Like I said, I honestly dont expect to get 16k for it. I put that just as a figure to start the negotiations. But if you dont think thats possible, what should I ask for it?

I don't think you will get 16k for it,

But I wouldn't accept anything less than 13k for it. I think that is a resonable price especially because the mileage is still pretty low.

GOD DAMMIT, WHY DONT I HAVE 16g's RIGHT NOW?! Yeah, I'd agree 16 is kinda steep, but I wouldnt take less than 14 if I were you. I think you have a good starting point for bargaining or whatever. Yeah, a WRX would be pretty sweet, what about the SRT4? Quick, 4 doors, and I bet they cost less than a WRX and less on the insurance. Good luck selling it though.

I think you should keep it. Do you just want a better family car? Well I guess I see the reason. WRX is probably a good choice.

Man I bet that 68 is sweet. Is it a fast back or a hard top?

I'd love to see pictures of it if you get the time.

it's a coupe, i had a chance to buy a 67 fastback but i kinda like the coupes better and the 68 my favorite, but if i could have gotten a 68 fastback... hunter green, no grill, steve mqueen...lol. but yea man it's actually completely stripped and waiting for paint right now then i can finally put it back together and rive it again. i bought it for $700 with grass growing out of the engine, but 3 years and way to much money later its almost done. but yea ill pm you some pics some time, some before and after, i just cant wait to get it done, but if your ever bored you should send me some pics of that SVT cause id love to check it out, i actually was just reading an article about SVT's like 30 min. ago so when i saw your in your sign i had to say something. but ill end this cuz you got me talking about stangs and im sure the dsm guys aren't real into this, but hit me up in the PM's anytime.

Srt-4 is a good car and sounds awesome and you would be able to get it for a cheap price but modding is expensive and it makes you go through DSM withdraw

MexRocket

lol dsm withdrawl... that rules

Savior1974
12-10-2005, 05:54 PM
LOL I know man.... i'm trying not to drive it too much to keep the miles down, and I'm already going through DSM withdrawl. But once I get another car, I don't plan on modding it. Maybe just exhaust and BOV (if turbo) just for the sound. I know that sounds ricey but hell, Being ricey is alot cheaper than losing a warrenty and having to pay for everything yourself... Like I found out first hand. But I've been looking and 2000-2002 WS6's are hard as hell to find below 20k. Those are probably my first choice cause they're sooo sexy (Unless I can find a good 03 Cobra. I'd go slightly above 20k for one of them.). Second choice is probably a tie between Srt-4, WRX, Camaro SS, 350Z. Damn I hate making big decisions like buying a car........

Edit: I also lowered the asking price for the car. Now it's 14,900. Should update in about 24 hours. So hopefully it will sell fast. What do you guys think about the price change?

Evo... Why has no one mentioned that? Every single test I've seen done: Top Gear, Edmunds, Road and Track, etc. the Evo beats the WRX. And there are lots of them selling for under $23,000 on autotrader.

sucks that you're out of the DSM World, but you should keep the AWD, IE EVO, STI, or WRX

AbsoluteGTR

STI, or WRX

Isnt that the same car?? Subaru WRX STI

No. The order of that Subaru car goes like this: Imprezza -> Imprezza WRX -> Imprezza WRX STi
