Well, you know I have railed against getting the FPR from online sources (or any critical part) because of whats involved time wise getting a replacement if it goes bad under warranty. Basically you have to take time to ship it back (usually at your cost) wait till they test it, then send a new one. This can be from 3 days to a week without your vehicle. When you buy locally, just catch a ride up to the local parts store where you bought it and swap it out. Well, I'll rail no more about buying just the FPR.

Advance autoparts, should you live by one, now carries the FPR for our trucks (The FPR is usually what leaks on the CPI unit, somone did a FPR change how-to around here, maybe they can re-link it) The cost is $43.00 with no shipping charges! I called several of our area advance autoparts and they all said they keep a few of these in stock...

Motormite part #55162

Hope this helps some of you. Far better than having to pay the whole 270.00 for the injector unit. Since motormite is a common product line, I would find out other parts stores that carry it. (Autozone, napa, etc)

I posted that I was going to do the FPR swap, as our local O'Reilly said they had it. Turns out they didn't, so I swapped the entire CPI. Our O'Reilly normally does carry it, and price is comparable, in the 40's.

One that note though, I am thinking that my new GM CPI regulator is leaking a tad already (only two months old). I pulled the IMV and it looked damp, more so on the regulator side versus the fuel line side. Not good enough access to actually see if fuel had puddled. Plan on pulling the upper plenum before to long to verify whether it is leaking a bit or not.

It could be just my imagination what with the extreme cold weather we are having here, causing me to warm up the vehicles dropping the gas mileage.

I searched through hell and high water to find just the FPR when mine went and I found several for the Vin Z, but none for the Vin W.

I bit the bullet and purchased a package deal off ebay that included the new CPI with injectors and FPR, inlet and return fuel lines, o rings, and all gaskets required for $400CDN shipped to my door ($345USD shipped). They were genuine AC Delco parts from a Cadillac dealership in Chicago. They come with a lifetime warranty and are returnable to ANY GM dealership in North America.

I didn't know any GM part to come with anything more than a 1 year warranty other then transmissions and engines. If you actually do have a lifetime on that CPI, thats a great deal.

It is damp not from gas, but from oil coming in through your PCV line.

That is why I installed the PCV catchcan to get that oil before it fouls the intake and the plugs over time.

Is it working, keeping your intake plenum dry inside?

Drier than a dehydrated fart in a windstorm. Just checked yesterday, bone dry.
