just ran a mustang gt

hye guys i just wanted to tell yall about this nice kill i had ealier tonight. ok i was just cruisin down out main street here in town right, minding my own business. And out of nowhere this guy ina black mustang gt (id say 01-02), flys by me right. so im takin it all personally right, so i follow him, he tries to lose me at a light when i was behind, he stepped on it, but i kept up no problem. so we finally make it to the highway right and i'm like' gad dam this fools taking forever, i dont wanna follow him to the next state" u no what i mean. so we were going like 40-45mph, and i put in 3rd and let it rip, my tires screeched a little as a switched lanes an i see his car down shift to, the body just shifted, and he floored it to, i could hear his exaust, and it was loud, had to be flowmaster. anywho i thought that he would take me right, nah, by the end of third gear i was a car ahead of him, then i shifted, and this has to be the first time ANYONE MISSES 4th. so he gains a little right, then i finally put the bitch in 4th and whabam...it was over, i smoked him like it was nothing. cmon guys, ive heard that they'll kill an sl, what the hell. did he have his ac on something, dam this is long, laterz

It's not too hard to make stock mustangs look like GT's. I remember when my brother was going to buy one, I went with him to check it out. It ended up being a pony, just with no exhaust, which the seller told us was because he was trying to make it side exhaust, and the GT emblems. Maybe this answers your question.

I have to call 100% BS. The 99+ GT's are TT competition. THey run mid 13's stock and would destroy a NA 3s. Sounds like you raced a V6 with exhaust.

my race was with a 98 or below gt and i'm guessing it was a 95 or 96 because the 98s have the same as 99 and up stangs. the guy i raced had a grey top convertible crome cobra r's and as previously stated four people in the car. i also thought that you racing a 99 gt was a little strange are you sure it wasent a poser. a v6 with duel exhaust and bullit wheels?

Since when were 01-02 GT's mid 13's? They're mid 14's..the cobra is 13's. I've heard of SL's being high 14's w/ just a DP, I say it's possible...but 4th gear the GT probably dropped out.

Mach 1 = 13.5 ( VR4 TIMES)
and
COBRA= 13 to 12.8
and stock 5.0'S i think run the same as 99 and up gts

Must disagree. GT's are mid to high 13's. My friends auto GT ran 14.1 stock. Thats an auto with stock gearing. A 5 speed would be faster. Mach 1's are low 13's and even some hit high 12's. 99-01 Cobras were basically the same as Mach 1's and 03+ Cobras are 12's easy. Of course horrible drivers will not run good times but the cars are capable of them.

A stock 99+ GT will hang with a stock TT. A stock Mach 1 or 99-01 Cobra can beat a stock TT. A stock 03+ Cobra would whoop a stock TT.

NA 3s's are no competition for 99+ GT

Don't underestimate mustangs. Just because they're muscle-cars doesn't mean that they're still just a brick with a big engine.

i was going off the stock 1/4 mile times from a web page.
oh and beleive me when you the only person driving and import in a world of mustangs and camaros you learn alot about them. plus ford teribly underestimates their motors . for examble the stock 5.0 was said to only have 225. bull shit they really had more like 245-260. my friends got one with a cam and flow master exhaust and long tube headers with a 410 rear end. the downfall is the stock five speed it can't handle amy mod done to it.

My friend who had a manual 98ish GT ran 14.9-15.1s consistantly.
I never had trouble with 99+ GTs, I beat them as well when I was stock.
And I've ran a few cobras, 90, 03, 05 off the top of my head, and I held the '05 off until about 85/90mph, then he passed. The '03 was seriously modded and just annihilated me. And the 90ish 5.0 cobra didn't seem as fast and if memory serves me correctly, I honestly think I won that one.
