Which is the better buy from experience and what have you guys heard. I know both are good but centerforce is a little cheaper on slowboy. The 2600's are rated for like 450-500 i heard... while the centerforce only says 90% over stock... I know stocks like 250 if not more. So i would think it would hold near 500. And also what is the pedal pressure on the centerforce compared to the act. Thanks...

I've only personally driven an ACT 2600 and pedal pressure isn't THAT bad. I would go ACT because they are more proven than centeforce.

The ACTs had a problem of shooting out their springs and destroying themselves. At least that's what happened to a bunch of people on tuners. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133330
If you look at the poll, around 160 people claimed their ACT failed.

Have you considered competition clutchs? I have one with a 6 puck and it's incredible. I have adjusted to driving it daily with no problems and it is supposed to be good for extremly powerful cars. I've launched it as hard as possible and given it all hell and have no problems with it at all. Has anyone else had one too?

Read this little right up 95gsxracer said about the puck disc before you think about getting one.

Puck clutches are really only good for race cars. With extended use they are famous for taking the splines of input shafts, snapping input shafts, and other expensive damage. Many poeple install a pucked clutch and shoot gears out the side of the case within a week, especially unsprung units.

All that being said, I highly recomend a street disc for anything under 500 whp and reasonable weight. Over that and you may need to start taking some drivetrain risks to keep holding the power, or just go up further on clamping force to the 2900 or 3200. Actually, with FWD, you can be a little more sure that a 2600 with a street disc is all you will need, since the tires will let go before the clutch starts to slip.

i have a Centerforce Dual Friction right now (my 2nd CFDF) and i love them. They grab like a dream, and when you're slamming through gears, it feels like there's a gorilla in the engine compartment punching the firewall. I drove on an ACT 2100 a long time ago and i liked it too. Never had any experience with a 2600.
