1999 oil light

I have seen several posts on oil lights but ours is doing something a bit different. Has given us no problem so far, other than a little oil burning (2.7, 104K) but this evening my wife took it out for a short trip and when she came back she told me the oil light was stuck "on". It came on while driving, and would not turn off even when the car was shut off. I went out to look aand sure enough the oil light was on, the transmisison gear selector light was on, but nothing else. Car had oil, and when I started it up it ran as smooth as always. Light went off, and when I turned it off both light stayed off. Sounds a bit strange. I remember that her inside lights stayed on one evening for a while until I opened her door and re closed it (was closed, not open). I wonder if perhaps there is a malfunction with computer. Anyone had these symptoms??

if your trans selector lights and the oil light stay on even after the engine is shut off and w/ the key out of the ignition (if I understand you correctly) that sounds like a glitch in the BCM. Try disconnecting the battery for about 5 min. and reconnecting it, you'll be resetting the BCM; see if that works if not, then you have a definite glitch in the BCM.
